Alex and Ren barely survived their last run-in with the order and now they're thrust right back into the mess. But the danger they're facing is nothing compared to the revelations that Alex must conquer. The desert holds secrets and answers he may not be prepared for.

As we near the end of the series, each book is getting progressively darker, which I have been enjoying. I have theories on how it's going to end because we are having Alex and Ren face more mature situations and consequences so the last could truly end with a punch.

This one though had us reading through some uncomfortable bugs and had a Star Wars family reunion moment. Also, hoping my favorite character is brought back, just sayin'.

I'm looking forward to finding out if my reader buddy and I are reading the bread crumbs right and predicting the end of the series. We shall see.

Would recommend.

Alex continues his quest to find his mom and the lost spells. The 39 clues meets Egyptian mythology!

Book #48 Read in 2016
Tombquest: The Stone Warriors by Michael Northrop

This is the fourth book in a middle school/young adult series that has elements of mythology, history, adventure and mystery. Alex is still trying to find his mom before the bad guys do, while the bad guys are also trying to find him. This book spans Egypt to Vienna and back again. It is a quick action-packed read that middle school boy and girl readers will love.

Still enjoyable. Enjoyed the references that reminded me of The Mummy movie. Don't know if they were done on purpose, but it seemed like it to me. Good series with good characters and story.

I don't think the image portrayed on the cover of the book (Alex leaving an Egyptian tomb through a wall and into a city) happens in the book itself. I think it happens in the last part of the previous one.

The Stone Warriors by Michael Northrop is the fourth of the TombQuest books. Alex and Ren are called back to Egypt, this time to Alexandria with clues that might lead to the discovery of Alex's mother.
