Damon and Stefan fight, then because of Elena they start working together. Basically the entire plot of the book.

Honestly these books are just so bad. I watched the show first and when Elena turned into a vampire in the show it felt like it took forever for her to get to that moment, but in the book it felt so rushed and I felt like it came out of nowhere. I started reading and then BOOM she was a vampire. I don't know it just all felt so rushed. These books so far haven't been my thing they just seem a little boring for me and not that interesting. Also Elena switching up Stefan like that I also felt like that happened way to fast as well. Katherine is what really brings this books to life because if she was not in the book I think it would be very boring.

I probably would have really liked this book when I was in Grade 8, but reading it as an adult it's not my favourite. I would love to read twilight just to see if it's the same as this. Stefan and Damon got along better in the TV show than in the books, and to be honest I am not sure why that is. Damon however will always hands down be my favourite character, in the books and the tv series.

I probably will only continue with the series but on my kindle instead of buying the books. It'll just be easier and I just don't feel like continuing to buy the books when the series for me is not great. Just watch the show it's a little less cringy, or more I don't know it's just good. Happy Reading!!!!!

Stuff actually happens this time. But I am upset that the resolution was so quick. Couldn’t have done like a long fight or she gets away yadda yadda. I do feel like this is going to be a supernatural situation where someone only dies for like two episodes.

There isn't an "I wish I didn't spend my time reading this book" option, so I'll keep it at a one. I am so incredibly grateful to the people at tthe CW who made this show not suck, because it could've sucked so bad. When we learn about this big bad that comes to town, it's just stupid. I am mad that this is considered a novel. See all the other notes for this series, because I don't want to be like L.J. Smith, in that she could have just said "bad shit happens, everyone sucks, and then it gets resolved (kinda)" for the whole thing. Yuck. Ok, maybe I should give it some more credit. The ending actually did surprise me a little bit. So we'll say it's 1.5 stars instead of the "I wish there was a 0 star ranking" that I've been giving everything else. There comes a point where you're only reading something to say that you finished it, and this was that filler book.

Continuing the re-read! These are very easy to get through in one or two sittings. I never realised how nineties they are. Probably because I last read them in the nineties...

This always was my favourite one of the series!

Still not getting any better, still not sure why I'm continuing to read these. Maybe it's nostalgia?

All my homies hate Alaric Saltzman.
