Oh I was quite disappointed with this one. I loved Sunny so much through the series and couldn't wait for her book, but she fell a little flat on the page when she stepped out of supporting characterisation and into the limelight. She came across a bit "one trick pony" which devastated me. All the same, I love her gusto and bravery and I love how she cares for people, so I still flew through this one. I put the next in this series on hold at my library, so hopefully the new batch of Dragonets will bring more excitement and adventure.

I honestly didn't think I would get this far into the series but here I am finished with the first part of the series. I didn't hate this book although sunny annoyed me at times I wasn't ever annoyed enough to not want to read the book if that makes sense. I thought as a conclusion to the dragonets of Destiny and the end of the war this book never felt like there were any stakes it was more of that they probably should end the war. I was a bit disappointed by the end I thought I would get more character deaths but oh well.
I honestly loved smolder in this book he has easily risen to be one of my favourite character in the series. I loved how he was so terrified of burn and he wasn't a good captor.

I like Sunny. Because of her status as a Sandwing and the fact that Burn, Blister and Blaze are Sandwings too it seemed intuitive for her book to be last. I liked everything about this book, but my favorite thing was Sunny proving herself as intelligent and able in her own eyes and her friends'. Although this book was like Starflight's in that much of it was without the other characters it was easier to read. I do believe this was because of the background and Sunny's own attitude. She is not one who instantly falls into the worst case scenario and thus the outlook of the book felt different. I loved the way the fake prophecy came around and the new queen came to Pyrrhia, but most of all, I love the introduction to Darkstalker.

A satisfying ending to the series with a nice foreshadowing of the next set to come.
