I have a lot of serious reading waiting for me, but last night I needed dessert, not a main course. This was my seventh romance from Shalvis. I got what I wanted - a break from reality.

Hot fudge sundae with coffee ice cream and lots of whipped cream. And no calories.

I absolutely, 100%, adored, this novel. Everything about it, from the romance, the characters, the setting, through to the happily ever after. All of it, was perfect. Brady, was a fabulous alpha male and Lilah, his perfect adorable true love.

I have been waiting to read this for a while, but I won't make that mistake with the rest in this series. I'm off to start Animal Attraction now.

Not interested in reading a romance book where there’s nothing between the characters except lust.

I really enjoyed not only the story, but also the way it was narrated. It was really enjoyable to listen to while I was walking. I'll be posting the full review, soon!

"Co-owner of the town's only kennel, Lilah Young has lived in Sunshine, Idaho, all her life. Pilot-for-hire Brady Miller is just passing through. But he soon has Lilah abandoning her instincts and giving in to a primal desire.

It's Brady's nature to resist being tied down, but there's something about Lilah and her menagerie that keeps him coming back for more."

Animal Magnetism was an okay romance...I could not get "close" to the characters and it seemed a bit longer than it needed to be. I will continue the series.

Synopsis
Ex-military turned pilot for hire, Brady Miller has always been a love 'em and leave 'em type until he comes to Sunshine Idaho to visit his foster brothers and encounters Lilah Young, the local kennel owner who suddenly has him questioning his choices in life.

Review
Great characters, cute animals and an intense romance but no plot to speak of.

Although Brady and Lilah have smoldering chemistry and excellent banter, their romance is predictable - at least there are no silly misunderstandings or unnecessary angst.

Lilah is an endearing heroine with her love for animals and difficulty accepting help from others. However, while I understand her attachment to the animals that she rescues, her reactions to giving them away to loving homes is definitely over the top.

Brady is a sexy, ex-military pilot with an adrenaline addiction but he is obviously at a crossroads and looking for a place to belong. Seeing him struggle with his growing feelings for Lilah is one of the best aspects of the book.

The small town dynamics are great and the secondary characters very engaging although their quirkiness quota could have been a tad higher.

Overall, a light and easy read that will have you smiling at the animal antics (which garner this an extra 0.5 star). Dell and Jade's books is next and there is obviously something very intriguing going on with them - love their snarky sarcasm.

I am a sucker for the HEA and really enjoyed this book. Probably closer to a 4.5 star for me.

The characters in a book are what typically do it for me - if they are interesting and I want to know more about them, I tend to enjoy the story. This one is no different. I don't think there was one character here that I didn't like. Adam, Dell and Brady...yikes. If I need to move to find guys like this, just tell me where to go. All have their issues but they all care for and love each other. Also, who can pass up a guy who cares for animals?? Lilah was the right mix of tough and not so tough. She too had her baggage but she was a believable character.

I have a number of raving reviews in my update feed on the other Shalvis books and I have to say, my friends are right. Great story, great characters - go read it.

I am closing out the year with just some fun reads that won't get reviewed in my normal fashion. However, I need to say that what people are saying about this series is so very true: Fun, Romantic, and HAWT! This was just an enjoyable listen all around :)
