I can almost guarantee when your alarm clock goes off, you don’t want to get out of bed. Maybe instead of the “beep, beeps” I will change the tone to a reason why you should get out of bed this morning (or read this book.)

This is a book for the overworked teachers. This is book for the underdogs who are tired of being the underdog. This is a book for the people that are searching for a family. This is a book for the moms who need to be seen. This is a book if you need to laugh, to cry, and to smile back to back. This is a book for the adults who love hot cocoa. This is a book for people who need a reason to get up early in the morning.

This is for the early morning riser. ☀️

Meh - my stabs at "easy summer reading" are not as enjoyable as I'd hoped...

I enjoyed this book but felt I was watching the story unfold from way up high.
I laughed out loud a few times and did find some mos the characters very funny.
It did leave me with some questions unanswered but maybe that was the point of the story.
An enjoyable read

Such an enjoyable read. Reminded me of Olive Kitteridge in a way—but less depressing and a lot more funny.

I don’t know how I feel about this book !
In parts it’s genuinely snortingly funny. The mother character is a stone cold masterpiece. But. Seriously conflicted about the Jimmy character. He is presented as someone to love and laugh at because he has “slow learning”. Once I felt uncomfortable about that I couldn’t get over it.
