Tropes // age gap (27 & 40), bdsm club, virgin

I was shocked that I didn’t like this. As much as I thought I would. I thought the dialogue was cheesy and corny at times the spice was OK but I could’ve done without him calling her little one. Like every other sentence it was a little annoying. I would say this is a long book. It was 400 pages with only 18 chapters so every chapter was about 20 minutes long but it seemed like nothing happened at all. I just felt like we were missing something. We see the beginning of their relationship and she’s nervous and then all of a sudden they just connect but I don’t know where that connection came from because I didn’t see it.

TW (there could be more this is just what I found) // abusive parents, poverty, homophobic slur (from customer), use of honorific, blackmail, flogging, mention of past gang rāpe (not fmc), physical/mental/verbal abuse from parent

This book creeped me out a little tbh.
The heroine acted like she was 5 and the h treated her like she was an child aswell.I have read BDSM books before and I love the sub dynamics. The hea was in her twenty’s but had no idea what a clit was and pretended that she didn’t have a vagina .Like genuinely pretended she didn’t have any lady bits and apparently knew nothing about sex or her own anatomy ..So unbelievable. The main guy is holding her like a baby whilst she cried for the first quarter of the book even though she doesn’t know him he then randomly flogs her clit no build up oh and then she’s mad at him cos he put his fingers in there

I give this book 3 stars, it's well written but just not there for me.
First, someone with a traumatic past like Boadicea's would NOT trust Braun so fast....I mean I have no where near her trauma and I don't trust the guy.... also what happens with Liam does he just stop worring about her now that Braun is in the picture?
Second, we know nothing about Braun or the other masters and mistress....Ever! I find the story to be interesting enough to keep my interest but just lacking in supportive details.
Honestly, I have read better BDSM club books on Wattpad 🙊 (I know I said it). I found the BDSM club part just weird, it's out in the middle of nowhere on a ranch with barns that are connected with hallways, just odd! I find the lack of contract interesting because I think that would have been a good addition to learn more about not only her but him as well.
The part that most irritated me was the fact that she couldn't even talk about her virginity to the guy she was with to losing her virginity within hours to him finding out....just weird...odd...interesting.
Well done on keeping me interested enough to try the next book in the series
