Laina is, without a doubt, the love of my f**king life

A short and sweet read about a musician (Laina) who left her fiancé at the altar, and found solace at her ex's house (Luke). While I enjoyed this read, I would have loved to have seen more about Luke's and Laina's past. We get snippets here and there throughout the story, but I felt like I missed the "falling in love" between these two. They both held onto their love with each other from years prior, and just needed to get over some hurt feelings and miscommunication to see they were made for each other.

I feel safe here - the first place I've felt safe in years

Second part of the Marshall series, but can be read as a standalone. In Adriana's note, she does mention she wanted to write a hug in book form and this is it.

I've loved her for too long. Loving her is as natural as breathing. I don't have to try

I loved this book very much. Even tough is very easy to read, you immediately fall in love with the characters and their world.

The author has a writing style in such a way that you feel like you belong there, and so easily puts a smile on your face and warms your heart. I haven't come across anything like this with other authors.

Laina is a superstar, but now she's just a runaway bride after she finally takes the step to get rid of all the men who control her. She runs straight to the place where she feels the safest, and that is Luke's house. I really liked the fact that Luke made her feel so safe after everything that happened between them years ago. He was there for everything she needed.

The chemistry between them is still very strong, but now Luke has to fight hard to be able to overcome the barriers put up by Laina in relation to trust.

I loved Luke's family, but especially the conversations between the brothers. They always made me laugh.

This is clearly one of my favorite books written by Adriana, and I thank her for writing such a beautiful book.

I would say I would give this 3.75 stars since I doubt he would Luke would welcome her back with open arms after not speaking after so many years. But I really enjoyed the story. Laina needing to get away from everything that has happened in her busy and troubled life after making it huge as an actress and running to Luke and his ranch. Him accepting her once again and establishing their love then they had for one another was sweet to read.  This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.

This was a quick, low angst read that did exactly what Adriana Locke intended. It gave me a small escape from real life with a heartwarming story that brought all the warm fuzzy feelings.

Luke and Laina were the best kind of second chance. They never stopped loving each other, they were separated by circumstance. They both got to pursue their professional dreams, but now that Laina is back, they have to figure out a way to make it work without either of them giving up their dreams.

I loved how easily Luke and Laina fell back together. It wasn’t without a little bit of work, and overcoming some past hurts, but the way they communicated was something special. Despite spending years apart, they still had a connection that never died.

I loved getting another glimpse into the Marshall family. It was no less heartwarming than Chase and Megan’s story. There was some humor and I loved the relationships within the family. The sibling texts and digs. The Marshalls are a family anyone would want to be a part of.

When I think of small town romance, Adriana Locke is one of the first authors that come to mind. With this Much Is True, we get a small town second chance romance with a sassy heroine and the small town guy she left behind. The pop star turned runaway bride only had one place in mind when she fled....her teenage boyfriend's house. She knew she would be safe there and if anyone would understand, it would be him, and if not, she only needed a few days to figure out what in the world she was going to do next.
You would think being the biggest pop star in the world would have everything she wanted. But as Laina finds out, sometimes doing what everyone wants you to do, isn't the best thing for yourself. Throughout the story we see Laina's growth and strength. She went from a yes girl to a woman who takes a stand and takes back control of her life.
Luke is the perfect swoon worthy book boyfriend. Supportive and not overbearing, he's the perfect person to help Laina see the kind of life she deserves. His family is close knit and loving and he can go to them for anything, even his brothers who constantly remind him that he's the middle child.
With just enough spicy to make you blush, Luke and Laina's story is also one of personal growth, second chances and realizing what it's like to finally have a family who stands behind you.
I can't wait to read more of the Marshall family series and I am hoping Troy gets a story. He's one of my all time favorite side characters

This is a short, sweet and swoony second chance romance for Luke Marshall and Laina Kelley. Mega pop star Laina flees on her wedding day and ends up at the home of Luke, the one she left behind. Luke has always loved Laina but he let her go to pursue her dreams. He can’t pass up having her in his life and home again.

I enjoyed this story and was glad to see Laina and Luke get their happiness. It’s pretty much angst free except for her dealings with her terrible ex-fiancé and father. Pure toads. I have read book one, but did feel that this book could be read just fine as a standalone.

Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Once upon a time, I could peer into those beautiful green eyes and know exactly what he was thinking. And I wouldn’t dare look at him if I didn’t want him to read me like a book. But his gaze now holds stories we don’t share, experiences I don’t understand, and wounds I didn’t heal. The difference cuts me to the quick.” -Laina

Luke: “So you just tied me up in one of your shenanigans that will be one of the year’s biggest scandals. Awesome.”
Laina: “Oh, don’t act like you don’t love a good shenanigan.”
Luke: “Not the point. I also love a good tie-up, but that’s not the point either.”

“She may not be mine anymore, but I’d still kill for this girl. That’s a complicated and dangerous place to be.” -Luke

“We’ll have rough patches. All relationships do. And I want those for us so we can work through them, grow a scar over the wound, and have that part of us be impenetrable.” -Laina

This was such a fun read! I’m a new fan of Adriana, but I am loving everything I’ve read by her so far (which currently only consists of this book and the one before it, More Than I Could but still…) I was excited to read about Luke Marshall because I knew he would just make me smile the whole time, and I was right. Luke is the sweetest cinnamon roll who isn’t afraid to joke around and make everyone smile. One person who he always wanted to make smile, even after she was out of his life for a while, was Laina Kelley. Laina is a famous musician who left her small-town, and the man she loved, years ago. But, after she comes back for her wedding that…doesn’t happen…she knows that the one place she can go is Luke’s house. Laina knows that she’ll be safe with Luke, and she’s right about that–Luke is happy to keep Laina safe and let her stay with him. I loved watching Laina and Luke reconnect after so many years apart and get to know each other again. But, it was also nice to see that there were still things they knew about each other, too, and their friendship just picked up right where it left off. Both Luke and Laina were very mature and communicated well, which I loved to see. They were both willing to work hard for their friendship and relationship. This was a short and sweet second-chance romance, and it was nice to be back with the Marshall family again. I don’t know if we’ll get to see any more of the Marshall siblings' stories, but I truly hope we do because I’d love to see them all get their happily ever afters!

Thank you, Adriana and Valentine PR, for providing me with an ARC!
