Honestly this is like Mean Girls before Mean Girls if Cady and Regina both had magic. Blaise is such a fun character, I love evil teenage girls done well! She’s like Regina George with dark magic, it’s great! Plus she’s not wholly irredeemable and she really does love her cousin and would do anything for her. Its not a comedy like Mean Girls though, it’s very much a supernatural romance drama but still. If Mean Girls genre-swapped to supernatural romance drama sounds good to you, read this! I think the boy they fight over here is more interesting and likeable than Aaron Samuels, too.

Blaise is a queen. That is all.

She shows up in a suit to homecoming? Amazing. The way she wraps men around her finger and destroys them? Inspiring. I want a whole book about her and only her.

I loved all the witch lore in this one. Very interesting. I really do think these books would be good miniseries but L.J. Smith was done so dirty with TVD that I wouldn't blame her if she never let anyone make her books into a movie/show again.
