Not a bad contribution to the 'Night World' series, though by no means the best.
Pretty standard stuff -- tweeny bopper paranormal romance, relatively minimal violence and no sex to speak of. Not great literature, but not dreadful. Fine for in-the-car listening-- memorable enough that when I listen to the next book in the series I remember the basics from previous ones, but not memorable enough for me to be able to write an individual review for each book months after I listened to them.
Much better than the second book in the series. Good enough for me to decide to read the next book.
2.75-3 stars.
This is one of my least favorite of the series. I read it once as a young teen but this is the first time I've read it in almost fifteen years, in contrast to the others of the series that I've raed multiple times, and I was surprised that I liked it a little more than my first reading.
Now the first half I was still unimpressed with. I, for some reason, tend to not be as interested in the witch stories as I am with vampires and werewolves and almost any other type of supernatural beings. So it took it me a while to get into it. However the last half was really good, I liked the aspect that Eric couldn't.
Also the ending was good, I liked that Even though Blaise was kind of the "bad one" she still cared and loved Thea like a sister and showed that.
So in closing, first half is a struggle to get through, the last half though is much better.

Thea and Eric wouldn't forget anything and that Blaise was behind them not forgetting. So in closing, first half is a struggle to get through, the last half though is much better.
I am beginning to notice a pattern in these books. People from the nightworld cant fall in love with humans, then they fall in love with humans. That being said this book felt far superior to the other two. I liked the characters and I really love how they managed the ending. This story really makes me look forward to reading the rest of the series. I hope they continue at this level.
