"You're not a curse Lazarus Weston, you're a storm."

Damn this book got me good. Nyla K knows how to write books with that forbidden love and confusing emotions throughout. I'm late to the party on this one (but it's been sitting on my shelf since it came out) and I had this conversation with a friend not too long ago about age gaps.
Age gaps are hit or miss for me and its very rare that I like them but Nyla has written this so beautifully that it's physically impossible not to love.

Traci and Lazarus are a force to be reckoned with, the raw emotional pain I felt while reading this book was next level. This book is not a small feat and you go through Traci's life watching her grow into a woman and her feelings for Lazarus change. I loved Lazarus, his life and experiences are something that I fell in love with and you know... he is the definition of "bad boy" with his looks.

There's not much more I can or want to say on this as I highly recommend you go into this book blind. All the best stories are the ones which are unexpected and this is definitely one of them.

It took me several days to write my review , at first I didn’t know if I wanted to put 1 star or 10 .. I’m still not sure .. I was angry, sad, mad, confused and turn on .. This book marked my soul.

There are a lot of triggers in this book, it’s taboo, forbidden, intense, twist, delicious and addicting.

It’s a long ride where you meet Traci, from her 12 years to her twenties.. you follow her obsession and her love for an inaccessible man… I fell in love with Lazarus , I didn’t have a choice .. I wasn’t always ok with his choice and behavior but I’m trying to forgive him ..
The romance is complex and burning, the steam is absolutely perfection. The last part is poignant.

This book isn’t for everyone, but it’s not the « forbidden part » that destroyed me.. it’s some choices and behaviors with which I was and still do not agree !!

it made me feel so many emotions that I can only recommend for informed readers.

TBIBR is the first book I ever read by Nyla K.
And oh my.
Did I enjoy this!
I’m not going to get into it too much because reading it blind is the best way to read it. 😆

Though I gave it 4 stars because the twist was ..odd??

And then the last 20% felt like it dragged Onnnnnnnnnnn.

I also feel like it half of the ending cooks have been taken out.

It was a bit tedious at the end- even reading the smut scenes was hard to read.

This book is packed with tropes, taboo, forbidden.
slow-paced

Proceed with caution, this is a Nyla k book after all. My brain exploded so many times while reading this. Their love story is the reason slow burns are worth it. Go in blind, take regular breaks, have snacks and a reading buddy. You will need emotional support with this one. Nothing is off limits here, so leave any judgements at the door. You have been warned

Nyla just took a bite out of my soul with this book and I would offer her seconds. It took me a month to recover from this hauntingly beautiful story of three artistically tortured souls. The way their lives are interlocked and how the book is broken into segments gives this depth to the characters that have you sucked in and invested.
Make sure when you crack this one open you’re snuggled in with all your comfort needs, cause you’re not getting up until you’ve finished the last page.
PS: the spice…whoa!

OMFG!!!!!!!!

This book was EVERYTHING!! My 2020 favorite thus far and couldn’t be happier. This book was more than what people make it seem. If you really dare to read give it a try. It would fucking blow your mind!
