im kind of bothered by this book

it didn’t have any of the energy of the first two, and caspian’s personality felt so odd.
also aslan literally fixed every single problem???

I finished the Harry Potter series, with both joy of the lengthy journey and remorse that it had to come to an end. Now I return to C.S. Lewis's oh-so-classic Chronicles of Narnia. I hear Hollywood is making Prince Caspian into a movie. By the way, my version says that "Dawn Treader" is book 5 (chronological), not book 3 (publishing year), which works better for the story line.

I am reading the Chronicles of Narnia series to my little sister Emily. We started with the Magician's Nephew and then quit reading for a while. We had started The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe but somehow never managed to finish it. My sister was invited to go see the movie Prince Caspian with some friends and I wanted her to have read the book before she went. We read the book in about a weeks time we then started the Dawn Treader (which competes for my favorite in the series). We just finished it tonight and she and I cried through the end like I always do with that book. It was really beautiful to be there for her first reading of them. She is very mature and is picking up on the themes and nuances of the book.

I must say that I liked this story, and thought it was more interesting than Prince Caspian. One of the main character's was Lucy Pevinsie, which has always been one of my favorite characters for these stories. It was also different in that there wasn't one huge climactic event, and I liked this because I didn't feel like I was waiting for the story to blow up. Instead, it was just a pleasant, calm, easy read, which is delightful since I usually only read when preparing for sleep.

By Aslan's Mane, I hope that Disney doen't butcher the story, but I have a feeling it will. The only trailer I has seen features characters that aren't really part of this story.

mostly listened to the audio by Derek Jacobi on a long drive with L&C (2019, their first reading of this book)

This is the first book where we’ve really gotten to venture out and explore more of Narnia and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I love the feeling of having something magical at every turn, and having characters from Prince Caspian return was extra fun so that we could see a little more character development.
