Read it in two days. It is a fantastic and psychology/ crime related story, so eye catching and new.

I honestly can see why people might enjoy this novel, it’s written like a fast paced Netflix original action movie. It pulls you in and even though the characters are basically cardboard cut outs you want to know what’s going on. Unfortunately that’s all this book offers. There is no depth to the characters, and instead of them growing, evolving, or coming to life in anyway, as the story progresses they become even more vapid and stereotypical.
Alice is your typical rough, angry female cop with a tragic past who wakes up one morning with no memory, no idea where she is, and no idea why she is attached by handcuffs to your stereotypical good looking, quirky, funny guy. Together they try to figure out what happened and what led them to their unconventional meeting.
This story starts off interesting, and like an action film it just goes and goes. However, the more this story went, the less I wanted to read it. It’s a farfetched premise that gets more and more ridiculous and unbelievable. There are tons of loose ends and confusing aspects, like we spend a whole chapter of Alice talking about her dad in prison who she doesn’t speak with anymore but halfway through the novel she tries to contact him by calling his cellphone??? Ok is he not in prison anymore? They’re suddenly on good terms?? Wtf? Also Alice’s best friend? News to me, there is no background on their relationship and whenever she calls him for help she berates him and treats him like complete trash. There’s just so much I disliked about this novel, and while I can see it’s widespread appeal, I don’t understand any rating above 2 stars. This one was definitely not for me!

I'm sorry, this sucked.... I regret that if was ever translated into english. I was vaguely enjoying it for the first half but the twist is perhaps the worst I've ever read. Not only that but they have the audacity to spend 1/5 of the book just explaining the twist. Like that's how you know it's stupid! Go back to the drawing board!
The audiobook is also awful. Over half of it is read in a bad fake french accent and it's nearly unbearable. Hire a French person! Is rather the American have a French accent too than listen to this woman channel Pepe Le Pew for eight hours

Lần đầu tiên đọc sách của Musso giai đoạn trước khi ông bác này chuyển sang khoản trinh thám nhiều hơn (như những tác phẩm gần đây Un appartement à Paris, La fille et la nuit,...). Phải công nhận là bác này cua khét kinh lên được, đang từ một vụ theo dấu vết rồi cua đến đoạn cú lừa luôn mà không kịp đội mũ bảo hiểm. Đọc quyển này mới thấy đúng là chất văn học Pháp bây giờ đây rồi, viết dài và phải lãng mạn thật nhiều mới đúng bài. Nhắc đến lãng mạn thì tình tiết cho nam chính yêu nữ chính giống ngôn tình Trung Quốc ấy - yêu trong một ánh mắt luôn (tiếng Pháp có một cụm cũng tương tự như vậy tomber amoureuse dans un coup d'oeil/un coup de foudre).
Vì cú cua gắt của quyển này nên vote 4 sao, nếu có thời gian sẽ đọc lại đúng nguyên mẫu tiếng Pháp cho chuẩn chỉnh =)))))
