I loved the insane plot twist in the end! I could’ve never guessed it !

J’hésite entre 3,5 et 4

I have never had a book do such a complete 180 on me. The first 3/4 of the book, I was engrossed. I couldn't put it down and I was really loving it. Up to that point I would have given the book a solid 4 stars. And then the "plot twist" came. Without spoiling what it is that had happened, I can tell you that it will make you want to throw the book at a wall. It will make you feel like everything that you just read and enjoyed was for nothing. Why for nothing? Because it literally made no sense logically or from a character development perspective. It is riddled with plot holes and you will have more questions at the end than you did while reading the book.

I'm all for a great twist, but this was not one. This was lazy writing from someone who clearly had thought of a great adventure and was hoping to find an ending along the way but didn't or a tight deadline didn't allow for one.

The real plot twist was just how bad this book ended up being.

Nice story ruined by the ending.

It was fine.
I'm not into detective books but this one was fine.
It contains lots of feelings like hate, love, envy,vendetta...
It was all good until he decided to flip it all and surprise us at the end.
I didn't like that ending for me it was a tasteless ending.

I feel bad giving this a 2, but it was so contrived. The ending was incredibly sappy and corny. I bought it at a grocery store not expecting much. I wanted something easy to escape the stress I am going through, but I should have just take a hike in the woods. It is easy to read with fast pacing, but the only reason I finished it is because I just like to finish things. Every couple of pages brought some silly scenario. Even the title is a bad choice. I even questioned the French references - it seemed like things inserted by a person who took high school French and a one week trip to Paris. LOL - the author is actually a popular writer in France. This is another example of how the term “popular” is a disparaging term. This is not good writing.
