In order to enjoy this book without constantly trying to remember who people are, I’ve broken it down for you below. **Spoilers - I list who dies early on (like first few chapters) as their character is only important after they die lol **

The Evans women:
Pie (deceased) - “she didn’t get the nickname from being sweet”.

Ducey (80) - Jessica Lange, addicted to butterscotch candies, deceased husband is Royce

Lorena (50/51) - Reba McEntire, cares a lot about her rosebush

Grace (38) - Joanna Garcia Swisher or brunette Carrie Mulligan, town hottie, too busy with work and single mom-ing to think about dating

Luna (18)- Maude Apatow or Mckenna Grace, dark hair, dark eyes, pale skin, has nightmares of blood, teeth, shadows

The Antagonist:
Strigoi - undead that comes back to life and preys on the living to regain strength. Worst stridio turn into vampire like creatures; Two types: callers and knockers

Edwin Boone - first to die by strigoi (literally happens in the first 20 pages, so relax)

Mina Jean - first to come back to life for unknown reasons; killed by Clyde who was a caller

Deputy Roger Taylor - has the hots for Grace, has body image problems and an eating disorder, heart is in the right place

Andy West - Luna’s f boy boyfriend, seemingly golden boy but likely cheating on her with Alison Haney

Crane Campbell - Luna’s crush, bad boy, 90s alt type, will make you roll your eyes at the some of things he says, but then you have to remember he’s 15; really can’t tell if he’s good or bad.

This was SUCH a great read! I had never heard of Lindy before, but I was so impressed by how well the characters were written, and how drawn in to the story I was. It reminded me of a little lighter Grady Hendrix style book, and I will absolutely be reading the next in this series!

Good solid horror, loved the setting

I liked it and it was humorous, but I felt like the ending was a little rushed and left me with more questions. Maybe that was the purpose, but I think I was expecting something neater.

Felt like she didnt wanna hassle with doing the homework on vampire lore so she just made up her own. I liked the idea of a family of female vampire hunters but it just wasnt executed well.
