lovely as ever. like other reviewers though, it would have been nice to have more interactions with Anne

This focus of this book seemed to steer farther away from Anne than any of the previous books in this series. It fast forwarded 13 years in the future and focused primarily on Anne's children, most of which we were introduced to in this book. Some reviewers will complain how sickly sweet this book is but I dare you to read any Louisa May Alcott book and then this book. The books simply don't compare. This book doesn't ring of piousness and it wasn't written for the purposes of moral instruction of children.

I would have preferred the book to at least be written from Anne's point of view, if it wasn't focused primarily on her. There was so little interaction between her and Gilbert, although, to be fair, Gilbert never had much storyline to speak about past [b:Anne of Green Gables|8127|Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)|L.M. I know Montgomery wrote this series out of order but one thing that I found bothersome was the lack of chapter titles like there were in [b:Anne of Ingleside|77391|Anne of Ingleside (Anne of Green Gables, #6)|L.M. She should have either forgone chapter titles for the whole series or used them but not drop them partway through the series.

This book was enjoyable but it didn't hold my attention the way that some of the past books in the series did.

It's lovely to keep on reading Anne even though I miss her as the main focus of the book.
Her family is adorable but I wish we had more Gilbert in the books.

I was truly disappointed.

I've read an love [b:Anne of Green Gables|8127|Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)|L.M. Montgomery|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1390789015s/8127.jpg|3464264] for so many years that it never occurred me that I would not love all of these books.
I remember reading these books as a kid and loving every second I spent with Anne, I also remember that the "grown-up" books weren't to my liking, I really didn't like Anne growing up when I was young. Back then I though it's because she was a grown women, but today I get why I might not have like this particular book when I was younger.

It is so repetitive and unimaginative. It's like [a:Montgomery|5350|L.M. Montgomery|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1188896723p2/5350.jpg] just wrote it to write another book. The true magic was just gone.

The first parts of this book are pretty good but it started to get boring in the middle. I would have preferred more continuity in the story.

More than a little boring but worth it for the [b: Rilla of Ingleside|433533|Rilla of Ingleside (Anne of Green Gables, #8)|L.M. Montgomery|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1285712722l/433533._SY75_.jpg|1791604] set up.
I’m glad I read this series in publishing order though, if I had encountered this one earlier I might have been a little discouraged in staying with the series

Still a favorite!
