I made it 114 pages and am calling it quits. So. Tedious. And all the children are annoying. I normally wouldn't DNF a book in a series, but it doesn't seem like it's adding anything to the overall story. I'm trying to truck along. I'm debating if I even want to read "Rainbow Valley" because I've heard it's also heavily focused on the children. I am looking forward to "Rilla at Ingelside," I've heard this is a good one. Unfortunately, the series has fallen off after the 3rd book. Sigh. Hoping "Rilla" doesn't disappoint.

I think this series has run its course by now. It kind of just feels like the same same every book, but a bit more boring every time. I did enjoy this series, but I really don't see how there are still another 3 books to go!!
“The first star is always a miracle.”
Anne of Ingleside is more about Ingleside than it is about Anne. This book reads like a series of short stories about the Blythe children and their adventures.
Unfortunately, I don't care about the Blythe children and their adventures aren't interesting.
The parts that I like, are about Anne, from a hilarious matchmaking attempt to an amusing obituary writing request which doesn't end up quite as expected.
The last story is my favourite part of Anne of Ingleside because I prefer Anne when she isn't being perfect and matronly. This story deals with the doubts that come with a long-term marriage and Anne's feelings of monotony and jealousy is realistic.
Once again, this book is a product of its time and there is also so much fat shaming.
It looks like the next two books are going to focus more on the Blythe children and I'm not sure how to feel about it.

Honestly I was so bored reading this book. I loved the first book it was so magical and fun reading about her everyday life. I just don’t care about this annoying old lady, they can’t have any pets cause the dog dies or doesn’t love them, her daughter threw a cake in the water cause it’s embarrassing to walk around with a cake, boring dinner parties, kids being kids telling lies that you were swapped at birth, kids running away from a sleepover cause they are worried mom might die. Anne’s match making is always amusing though. And switching to the kids pov was very jarring. Book 6 and for the first time ever we see a new pov. It picked up for me again when the story was more focused on Anne and her marriage problems that where’s actually a problem.
Idk it’s a classic book that my mom and aunt loved so I feel bad not liking it. It’s definitely a classic for a reason it’s just not for me. Will I finish this series though? Yes
At least we didn’t hear like a man every 10 seconds.

While I was reading this book, I wasn't sure why I wasn't enjoying it quite as much as the others in the series. Not that I was annoyed at Anne, like I was when reading Anne of the Island. Not that I disliked some of the main characters, like I did with Miss Lavender in Anne of Avonlea. I'd just put the book down and not really feel the need to pick it up right away. Was I feeling Anne fatigue? Nope. I think the problem is that the book hardly focuses on Anne at all. It's more about her 6(!) kids with Gilbert. Some of the kid stories are delightful. I was particularly fond of anything with Walter. But the book really shines when Anne is front and center. I know that the last two books of the series aren't really about Anne either, so I'm wondering how I'll feel about them.
