This is a definite recommendation on my recommended list! Whether you enjoy history or graphic novels, or want to learn something new about another country, or specifically Iran, or read something out of your comfort zone, this is the book to read.

Graphic: Death, Violence, War, Torture, Religious bigotry, and Misogyny
Moderate: Confinement and Grief
Minor: Kidnapping and Rape
All graphics in the novel are in black and white. While the tags may say "graphic," no extreme details are illustrated, such as blood. Satrapi utilizes the negative space, as well as narrative block text, to highlight and talk about certain violence.aseel_reads's review against another edition
