Some of the poems were good but the majority of them were just random thoughts and cliche lines

soooo, i get why people like this book, i do. super relatable, like really relatable. some parts hit home so hard, i felt like the author was reading my mind. but… and here’s the thing, the poetry itself? it’s kinda… shallow? like, it’s all feels but not a lot of depth. i get the vibe, but sometimes it just felt a little too “surface-level” for me?

and honestly, some of it made me cringe. not gonna lie. there were definitely lines where i was like uhhh, okay, maybe not this one. it’s just one of those books where the moments that do land, land hard, but the rest just kinda float by.

the illustrations though? super cute, no complaints there. they added something that made it feel a little more personal, a little softer, and that’s why i’m giving it the two stars. but overall, this is the kind of book you read once, feel all the emotions, then put it down and forget about it. maybe i’m just not the target audience. idk. it was fine, but i wasn’t moved.

if you’re looking for something quick and relatable, it’s okay. if you want poetry that’ll really make you think—eh, not so much.

"your absence is a missing limb"

Sorry but no. She touches more themes in this one but the parts "wilting", "falling" and "rising" made me roll my eyes contantly.

Definitely not an author an aromantic can fully appreciate.

Me gusta mucho la forma en la que sus palabras llegan al alma y como habla del amor

helped me get over a break-up, so amazingly helpful

4 stars

I really liked this collection of poems. Some of the writings hit me hard in the feels and mind. Others not so much. Many people debate whether Miss Kaur’s writings are even poetry. I don’t have an answer to that but I will say her writings make me feel and think. That’s all I can ask for anyone’s writing to do.
