The thoughts on immigration and family and womanhood were well done but I felt like it fell flat for me. I felt like it told me too much for me to come to my own conclusions, and it was crafted to be overly relatable. Consumerist poetry maybe?

This was a one sitting kinda book. My first poetry book of this kind. It was good. I personally thought that the illustrations kinda took me out of it. But that’s just personal preference. It was very captivating the way that she discussed being an immigrant daughter, and recognizing the life that her parents gave up for her.

Right now I have finished reading it, and I am ... I mean I have so many mixed feelings, the truth was I did not have high expectations, I was just waiting for poetry, some nice phrases, that would be all. However I have come across a quite sensitive work, I recommend it 100%
