I’m bewildered at how the writing here is better than that of homebody; here I see the growth I was expecting in the latter. Kaur’s poetic writing flourishes here where it hadn’t on “milk and honey”; she has written some beautiful similes and metaphors regarding femininity, loss, love, anger.
This collection is the one I’ve enjoyed the most.

I just realized I forgot to mark this as finished almost a month ago... oops
The Sun and Her Flowers was absolutely gorgeous, a must read for any who loved poetry, or even kinda likes poetry. There’s something for everyone in here, I’d say the vast majority of people can relate to some of the things she talks about. 100% recommend to anyone

I liked this one. I really did. And I was originally going to rate it 3 or 3.5 stars. But the last chapter, “Blooming”, was quite possibly some of the most inspiring poetry I have ever read.
I think I have to agree with fellow Goodreads users because I do not really think that a lot of this was actually poetry. Some of them were one-liners about loving or hurting or something. I mean, I’m not too educated about what poetry really is or how it’s supposed to be written, but some of them just didn’t really seem like poetry to me.
Don’t get me wrong, I still liked this book. I mean, the whole last chapter bumped up me final review a whole star. There were certain poems that I found to be super inspiring and super relatable. I also think that the illustrations and accompanied certain poems were stellar! Kaur has a nice art style that is both very minimalistic yet speaks a message almost louder than her poetry. I also really liked the constant allusions to nature. I think that it makes a great metaphor for a lot of things and Kaur used them in the best and most effective way possible.
I recommend this to anyone who has read Milk and Honey and to anyone who needs to heal from a toxic relationship.
