I liked her previous work Milk & Honey but didn’t love this one. I liked the part about immigrant parents so that’s why I rated it 3 stars.
I’m not a literary critic but I wasn’t a fan of the actual writing - all lowercase, no punctuation, and broken sentences that didn’t feel like they had a real reason to be set up that way. It still conveys the message so it works but just not my preference.

Beautiful poetry
Some of her words felt like they came directly from my head. It was beautiful and I look forward to reading more from her.

Overall, I didn't like this poetry collection better than [b:Milk and Honey|23513349|Milk and Honey|Rupi Kaur|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1491595510l/23513349._SY75_.jpg|43116473]. A lot of the poems felt like a step back from the themes in Milk and Honey and it was a bit of a letdown, especially since these poems were all at the start of the book. But, once we got past that section, I was completely in love again! The poems Rupi Kaur wrote about immigration were so beautiful and emotional. At this point, I would probably pick up another book by her but I definitely want to try something different now since this type of "Tumblr" poetry can feel a bit stale and uninspired.
