An amazing sequel to False Memory. I had my doubts coming into this book, because the first book wasn't nearly as great as I thought it would be. But this blew my mind, and exceeded my expectations.

Okay. I went into this book blind. I don't remember who these characters are, and I had no idea what on earth was going on, but I still liked this book. To an extent. I love the ending. Such a cliffhanger! The story was kinda slow, but it was okay.

Being in high school has really changed my tolerance for books. I honestly thought False Memory was alright but I had the same problems with it as I do with False Sight, and sadly, I decided to drop it because I frankly didn't enjoy it.

Here are my problems:
1. THE CONFUSION- I couldn't follow the events and the explanations ended up confusing me even more. I wanted to relax, not go into a mindf***.
2. THE WRITING- The writing was so cut and dry (like the first) but I wanted an elegant, flowy piece of writing.
3. THE CHARACTERS/ROMANCE- I honestly feel nothing towards the characters, even Miranda. I think my deepest connection might be with Noah... But I had nothing invested in the characters to make me want to stick it out. So of course, the romance didn't cut it with me because of these mediocre characters.

However I give it 2 stars because the premise is, without a doubt, interesting and unique!

I'm a huge fan of False Memory, and the sequel definitely lived up to its standard.

The one thing I particularly love about this series, is the science fiction element in it. It has some sci-fi bits in it, but it isn't full out, which can sometimes be overwhelming. It still has elements of the "real world" in it, which makes it a lot more relatable to readers than if it was set in a full on science fiction world. Don't get me wrong, I love science fiction, it's one of my favorite genres, it's just refreshing to have a book with several genres in.

I also adore the storyline. Although it was a little confusing, since I haven't re-read False Memory lately, I quickly caught up with the plot, and could easily reference to the previous book for anything I couldn't remember.

I loved how the plot changed from book to book, while still staying connected. I get easily bored with books if there is one villain and plot through out the entire series. Does that make sense? Dan Krokos kept the same main plot through out the books, but changed the main story line for each book, which I really enjoyed!

I give False Memory 5 out of 5 stars.

I was so happy when I got this book at NYCC because I finished False Memory not too long before, and I figured, what the hell? I might as well read False Sight while FM is fresh in my mind. Good idea right? Until it dawns on me that I have to wait extra long for book 3 now. Bummer.

Anyway, I really like this book too. I was blown away by the complexity of the plot this time around. We already know that they are clones and that there are more of them out there, which can be the most confusing thing in the planet, but the introduction of a new player, Nina, just added to the mix.

If you saw my review of the first one, then you know I had a really hard time reviewing it because I didn't want to give anything away, and book two put me in the same place. What I can say is the larger plot of this book seemed to come out of left field, and was so thrown for a little while because I had no idea what to expect from the rest of the book. Krokos does have a good explanation for it though.

Something I can talk about? Miranda and Peter and how I so love them together and I wish that there could have been more about them and their relationship. Of course that is wishful thinking because while the love story is nice, this is a book about clones and taking over the world.

I think one of the saddest things in this book was the way that Noah still seemed to pine for Miranda even though she was completely Peters. I wish that they had kept the even numbers between the sexes so that there wasn't this constant struggle for the same girl (because even though it was Sequel and Miranda, it was still the same girl.) All in all, I need that third book, now.

I want to thank Disney Hyperion for sending me a copy of this book to read and review. Receiving this book for free has in no way influenced my opinion or review.

First, I have to say that I read the first book of this series in no time. I loved it so much and could not wait to break into the second one. I can honestly say that Dan is now one of my favorite writers and I will read anything he writes! As a matter of fact, I want to break into his middle grade series next!

If you did not read the first book in this series, then stop here. I can't promise there won't be a spoiler from that book!

Blurb from Goodreads:
All Miranda wants is a normal life. She's determined to move past the horrible truth of her origin as a clone so she can enjoy time with her boyfriend, Peter, and the rest of her friends at school. But Miranda quickly learns that there's no such thing as normal - not for a girl who was raised to be a weapon. When one of her teammates turns rogue, it begins a war that puts the world in jeopardy. Now Miranda must follow her instincts - not her heart - in order to save everything she's fought so hard to keep. with the image of a terrible future seared into her mind, what will she have to sacrifice to protect the people she loves?
Dan Krokos's sequel to the tour de force False Memory is a mind-blowing thriller with high-octane action that will leave readers begging for the final book in this bold and powerful trilogy.

As with the first book, I really love the cover. I love that it is simple and, unlike so many YA novels these days, there isn't a brooding guy or girl on the cover vying for my attention. Simplistic, futuristic, and just fantastic.

So, if you didn't read the first book in this series, you would not understand this one at all. You really need the back ground from the first one to not only understand the world but also the characters and their relationships. You have to understand the family unit they have and how they were created to understand their motives for trying to find those who want to kill them. They have a keen sense of how to stay alive and they will use all their will to do so.
And the characters continue to be relatable and realistic, in sic-fi, futuristic, robot type of way.
Miranda is the most kick butt heroine I have ever met. She's fantastically stealth and strong. She gives everything 110% without a second thought. She does have her moments where she is a bit selfish and has her angsty moments, but she has all good intentions in mind for sure.
And Peter, ugh, he continues to be one of the most swoon worthy book boyfriends I have ever met. He's completely committed to Miranda and to making sure his friends are safe. He's such a fantastically created character. He's as strong as Miranda and he struggles just as much as she does with how to protect everyone. And the romance between him and Miranda is subtle, yet you feel this strong bond between them that you know just can't be broken. I love that the book doesn't center around the romance, it centers around the story!
As for Noah and Rhys, well, I love their banter and the way they interact. I didn't think I would have laughable moments in this book, but I did, and mostly because of this relationship.

I was completely surprised by the turn this book took. I knew it was science fiction, but I never thought there would be anything otherworldly about the book. But there is, and it was such a great addition to the story! Think alternate dimensions, time travel and post-apocolyptic worlds! It's really entertaining and almost impossible to put down. As a matter of fact, Krokos goes so far to the top, I'm not sure how he's going to take it any further in the third book!

And talk about puzzles. This book is filled with mysteries that build upon one another until the entire truth is revealed. It's amazing how Krokos helps you put it altogether as you go. I really had no idea what twist or turn the book would take next, it left me breathless almost every time. And then I found myself struggling with a whole slew of emotions I never thought would come from this book.

This series is completely addictive. Just like the first, it is filled with action, adventure, great relationships, scary scenes and even a bit of romance. And the chapters are a quick read and leave you wanting more at each end. And the end, oh gosh, it made me cry! Yup, I didn't think this series would bring tears to my eyes, but it did! What a cliff hanger that leaves me wanting the third book!

Oh no! they did not just write that.

For supersoldier teens who are able to incite fear in others just by using their brains. They sure get duped, get the short end of the stick a lot. Now this story is still interesting to me.  But the world building could be explained a little. I can't really picture what world they are in. But the plot and where it's going next has me keep going on.

This series is about teens who are a clone of n original. With an ability where there brains can use as a weapon to detroy. Every one is a copy except for Rhys.

North Iteration?.... another sci-fi ingredient.

[B]Iteration: 3. A new version of a piece of computer hardware or software.

These kids are a copy of a copy and there's more where they came from...

Lol first time I've ever seen an author use a slash in writing. "And all the while my heart rate climbs as I anticipate/dread what comes next." So now this one takes you to an alternate kind of place. That looks and feels like New York maybe. Wow! This picks up and more things are added. Now we have creepy creatures called The Eyeless. It's picking up and adding more pieces in. Writing a good sequel is not always easy, but it can be done.

It was definitely better than the first book. I liked the world buildning and the character growth. I'm anxious to read the third and final book to see how this series will conclude.
