Still entertaining enough. However, this ends my "cheap books 1-3" purchase from Google Play. Not sure if my library has the rest of the series.

Oh my God so much has happened. Ciardis finds her (thought to be dead) mother and brother and she finds out that nothing is what it seems. Sebastian lied to her, war is coming and no one knows on what side they're actually fighting for.

Loved this one even more than the second book! However there are 6 !! more books in this series and I probably won't read them.

This is one of my favorites for good reason! In this installment, the series ups its complexity in spades, and we get a glimpse into one of the overarching goals of the series.
SpoilerDefeating the bluttgott.
There's lots of interesting things happening with the war in the North, and we meet some fun characters, such as Inga (a favorite of mine), Kane, and of course the invaluable Thanar. Or he will be, anyway. Love him! Not so much in this one, but later on. Also, lots of romantic things go down with Sebastian and Ciardis, yay!
SpoilerThey say they love each other!!
And lots of family secrets are revealed.
SpoilerSuch as Lillian being alive, and masquerading as Serena, and Caemon and Ciardis properly meeting, and at the end of the book going to make their comeback!
This book has a lot going on, but it's paced quite nicely. I really enjoyed rereading it, and would highly recommend the series! 5 stars.

An entertaining, action-packed installment in which interesting and like-able side characters are introduced. The intrigue really ramps up, which is generally a good thing, since it makes the story an interesting one that's not cut-and-dry good guys versus bad guys. However, things start to get convoluted to the point of being hard to believe and soap opera-esque. It's also annoying that the books in this series have so many typos and that the author seems to get fixated on certain works and use them too frequently. In this volume, they happened to be "castigate," "laconic,"and "pissed," the last of which was particularly distracting since it felt anachronistic.

P.S. Meh on the anticlimax of the romance in this volume.

Every time she listens to the demons (she calls them something else but they are basically demons) I’m like NO why are you doing this? Don’t trust them they are lying and she does and they are.

Plus she is spending less and less time with Sebastian and I liked the two together so that kind of ruins that for me.

Also after everything she goes through in this book if I was her I would just leave. Being a laundress is better than being with these people.

This is an Overall Series Review

I got these books from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank the author and the tour organizers for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this series.

Great characterization and well execution of concept. I also liked the plot very much and the good writing of the author connected me well with the story line. There are some grammatical mistakes and typos but other than that I liked the concept very much. The typos and the errors were well edited in the nest two installments.

Ciardis is a strong female lead and I adored her and loved her the most compared to the other characters. She is a kick-ass heroine and her character kept on developing and touching new heights of magnificence through out the entire series.

The world that the author created is awesome and the inclusion of each and every tiny details of the Royal lifestyle, their ruling and the other important things belonging to that era made this read an intriguing one for me.

There is action, adventure, suspense, mystery and passionate romance as well. Some of the back-stabbers were hard to believe and I was just stunned when those treacherous persons were revealed. There is betrayals, test of loyalty and dedication, the responsibility for ones duty and so much emotion. All these will bind you to the story and you wouldn't want to step out of the fascinating and magical world that the author created here.

A must read for all and don't forget to read the books in the order in which they are published. I'm anxiously waiting for book 4 - Sworn to Secrecy which will release on February 28, 2014!!!

Overall Series Rating: 4 Stars

Such a fantastic book! It picked up very quickly after the last book's cliffhanger ending, and then things were happening, and it was just so fantastic! And it's ending, oh, boy, was like Sworn to Raise, but bigger! I want to read more!

Why do I keep reading this series? I ask myself this question every time. I don't hate the books at all! But the cannon is shaky at best and things keep seeming to change at a whim. First, the narrator is telling us Ciardis has a small body, then she is telling us that she was not so small. Ciardis' personality is all things to all people and everyone ends up loving her. Ok, so I don't hate her either and the story is entertaining. But the lack of consistency is kind of distracting. But as far as a light high fantasy book goes, this one doesn't take itself too seriously and that is exactly why I like reading them. It was ok, I liked it, I will keep reading this series because it is definitely entertaining. But the writing is just distracting enough to keep it at a two star rating from me this time around again. Come on book four, give me a three star experience!

A thrilling and captivating book, yet again! In this third volume of the Courtlight series, Ciardis once again has no time for respite as challenge after challenge assails her in the many twists and turns of the battle in the North. With many layers of subterfuge, allies can quickly become enemies and vice versa, leaving the reader feeling like anything could happen with a urn of the page. However after three volumes, Ciardis' overriding humanity despite all the experiences and trials she must face is greatly endearing, and I can't wait to read the next installment...
