This book was so amazingly told! The story, the Narrator, the whole plot! I didn't know much of the Norse myths but this made me want to know more, so much more, especially from Loki's perspective!
Loki is not a good person/god, but despite knowing it I couldn't help but be on his side. Everyone in the story, except perhaps Idun, is a villain. They are all bad to Your Humble Narrator. Every one blames him, every one deceives him, every one cheats on him.
Loki is definitely a bad person/god but the way this tale is spun you don't really see that. Yes, he does a lot of mischief, but not without reason. When you are the escape goat of everyone even after helping them so much, it is only natural that you want their downfall. I know I did. Marvel made me love Thor and Loki; this book made me hate Thor (and Odin too) to such an extent that I would fantasise about his death in my reading pauses. That's what Loki does, he makes feel very strongly.
The whole plot of this book was enticing and beautiful and wraps the reader mind, body and what passes for a soul (maybe even their hearts, if they have them) and doesn't let go, he takes us along for the ride and it gloriously disastrous.
I loved it. Definitely one of my all time favorites, one that I will never get tired of and will always come back to.

Even his so called loving wife is a menace, not helping him when he most needed her.Loki is definitely a bad person/god but the way this tale is spun you don't really see that. I have mixed feelings about this book. At first it was very hard to get into as there's a lot of people to introduce. But when that is over and the actual plot starts it ends up being a good book. Overall it was a let down as I was so excited to read a book about Loki. It just didn't live up to my expectations. I don't think I'll read the other books in this series though.

I was quite excited for this one, as I really enjoyed "Chocolat" by this author. I don't know much about Norse Mythology, but I was eager to see what the author would serve up on the trickster god.
This book starts from Loki's beginnings in the land of Chaos, to when he joins the gods in Asgard. He has a reputation for trickery and deception, and this book covers the pivotal moments in his life, until the fall of Asgard.
Although the story seemed quite exciting, I was so ridiculously bored. Everything was written as though it was just a summary, and I really didn't like Loki's voice, or narration style. He was like a badly portrayed teenager.
Although it was a good introduction to Norse mythology, it was quite disappointing, but because it's short and easy reading I managed to finish it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have.

Norse mythology from the perspective of one of its most entertaining deities. What’s not to love?
It’s the best modern retelling of the myths that I’ve read. Eat your heart out Neil Gaiman.

While reading the book, it really felt like Loki was sitting beside me and telling me his story. Absolutely genius work.

Norse mythology told by the arguably best and coolest Norse mythology character… Loki. Says it all. Perfection 😜 Can’t wait to read the sequel.
