Soyons clair : ce roman ne vaut pas ce que j’ai déjà pu lire de Coben. Au niveau de l’histoire, je m’attendais à beaucoup plus tordu, complexe et haletant. Le suspens est inégal, l’explication nous vient par bribe mais trop clairement et trop vite à mon goût. Le style par contre est un délice, le personnage de Myron Bolitar que je découvre ici, est sympathique et très drôle. Seulement, j’ai passé trop de temps à me dire “c’est tout ?” pendant la lecture pour apprécier le dénouement pourtant inattendu. Bien sûr LE détail, le dernier rouage de l’histoire n’est dévoilé qu’à la toute fin, mais il y a un je ne sais quoi qui me ferait dire que c’est un brin capillotracté, même si paradoxalement c’est pourtant bien ficelé. Allez comprendre! Mon avis sera donc mitigé sur ce livre. Mais je n’abandonne pas pour autant Harlan Coben ^^
Another great page-turner from Coben. Didn't seem to be quite as many twists and turns at the end as some of the others.
Enjoyable yarn. Looks early on like Myron is in the line to take the fall for someone else's misdeeds, but some investigation gets to the bottom of what is going on. I think what I like about this series is the personal element - old friends, relatives, local people - bring it to life.
Interfering sports agent gets involved with the hunt for a missing teen. These books have become like the Janet Evanovich series (which came first?) with slightly more plot.
I don't remember a lot about this one, save that it had plenty of unexpected plot twists, for which Coben is well known.
After hearing recommendations from DeAnn, I decided to try a Harlan Coben book - particularly after seeing it for only $5.50 from Costco. It was really good! I don't normally read the suspense/mystery genre, but couldn't put this book down and read it instead of writing a paper. I am definitely going to read some other of his books.
