I really enjoyed that this book was a very clear primer on climate change. It does a great job simplifying complex issues while providing a general and approachable framework for thinking about climate solutions. I personally took away some key questions to be asking like "what fraction of the emissions does this solution reduce", "how much space or other resources we'll need to make this a reality". New concepts to me included the idea of Green Premiums and intermittency issues.

The solutions Gates proposes are primarily tech or tech concepts (with a strong need for us to invent and provide incentives for carbon-neutral solutions). I'm curious how we can use these in tandem with policies and existing practices. Overall, I enjoyed this and recommend it to anyone who needs a comprehensive book on the climate crisis.

I read this book AFTER Bill Gates announced (August 12, 2021) that he would invest 1.5 billion with the federal government on projects to combat climate change. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is. He will likely hit more home runs with this bet.

Gates presented a roadmap for grappling with this monster challenge. He did this in a crystal-clear engineering-for-dummys style, a true compliment. He included personal details and views that made the book engaging as well. I would love to go on a "nerdy" power plant tour like Bill and his son.

I feel like he has made a huge contribution, not just to the debate, but to the plan.

If any of his editors happen to see this review, please do something about the green premium tables in the transportation section. The layout seems illogical and I had a hard time comprehending these.

No dzięki, mega odkrywcze.

This is not a book to try to convince you that climate change is real and caused by humans. That is accepted as fact.

I liked taking a bit of a deep dive into the main categories of greenhouse gas emissions. More than just problems, this talks a lot about what kinds of solutions are needed and how interconnected everything is.

I thought it was inspiring showing the path that we can choose to take to solve this problem. I wish I worked in an industry that could be more of the solution

A pragmatic and optimistic look at climate change, what causes it and what we need to do/invent to get to zero emissions. Everything was explained well and written clearly. It's good to see someone be hopeful and optimistic about these issues. There's so much that needs to happen, and looking at our current political climate, I'm not feeling hopeful at all... I guess that's the pessimist in me. But it's nice to know that there's a lot that we can still do to change things. And I learnt a lot.

I guess this is the first book I have read on climate change. Not that I have no interest but the country I live in currently offers very few incentives for green energy* where there are more important issues to consider like Primary education, health care, and politics, etc.

*Few people are so concerned about Mr. gates's Carbon footprint. Ladies and Gentlemen, grow up. If you don't climb the ladder to the top position, and along the way you intentionally and unintentionally leave your carbon footprintbehind, no one is willing to hear your words.

To sum up the book in one sentence: every topic Mr. [a:Bill Gates|18654160|Bill Gates|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/m_50x66-82093808bca726cb3249a493fbd3bd0f.png] covered in this book can be traced back to electricity. More importantly, green electricity.

I learned that I wasn't aware of. Not going to write too much, cause other readers already covered every essential points in their review.
