Our memories weight us more down than we think….
I liked the version of Tella in this book more than Scarlett’s one, but I didn’t like Jacks…. He wasn’t even the main character in this book it was Legend or Dante all the time! I think Legend is selfish because he left Tella like that… 😫

This was a solid sequel to Caraval, I’d say. It has the same great sense of intrigue and mystery to it, and honestly I think I liked it better in some cases. I’m not sure how I feel about them switching from “it’s all a game” to “oh but not this one”, though. There was also a lot of information dumped on you in the beginning of the book that I’m not sure why it wasn’t mentioned in the first. I like the expanding of the lore and whatnot, but it’s hard for it not to feel shoehorned in when it was never brought up in passing before. But overall I did like it and I liked the development of Tella as a character and her relationship with Dante.

Review:
I am dissapointed to say that I hate every inch of this book, or should I tell series, cause there is no way I am gonna read the third book.
I was tortured reading this one, I can't keep hurting mhy self by reading books I do not enjoy.
I don't think this book deseve all the 400 pages it was written on, there was a lot of repetition that you cannot ignore. some passages just felt cringy to me. I couldn't connect with the characters, I couldn't tolerate Tella, somethign about her was completely off.
I hate my self for blindly buying the whole series :')
