God I really liked this. It was interesting because I read the whole rest of the Murderbot series all in a week or two over a year ago, so at first it was a bit difficult for me to remember things. I kind of wish I'd reread them all before reading this one. But in the end I was able to catch up and not feel like I was missing anything (and I'm going to reread the whole series with my partner at some point anyway so if I did miss anything I'll get it when I reread this).

Anyway, this was excellent, just like the rest of the series. Murderbot is the best and it's so relatable as always. The world is fascinating and I love learning more about the characters. I can't wait to get more Murderbot in the future.

I love the murderbot series and this follows directly from the events of network effect and carries on the enthralling events. Could barely put it down.

I love the Murderbot series, but this might be the weakest book in the series (in terms of plotline). It wasn't cohesive and it got too confusing sometimes.

It's pretty much a given at this point that if there's a new Murderbot book, I'm going to love it. I loved this, but it wasn't an absolute 100% favorite, not because it wasn't fantastic, but because some of the pacing/choices some of the characters made didn't sit right with me.
That aside, I live and breathe for Murderbot as a character always and seeing It struggle the way it did in this book was a whole thing for me to experience - essentially It's working through it's trauma and is not having a good time. ART is also one of my favorites always and ART and MB's dynamic is everything.
I love seeing the evolution of the humans' relationships with each other and with the bots throughout the books and it was no different here.
This book deals a lot with colonization of a specific planet and seeing the politics involved in all of that was so interesting, but also infuriating.
All in all, another fantastic Murderbot book.

Phew, if you thought Muderbot had anxiety and trauma before! This installment showed more Muderbot having more vulnerability, at least with itself in recognizing it's own emotions and issues, which was so heartwarming. I hope it and Iris get more time to interact in the future, I'm hoping Wells puts her up there with Ratthi (re: being in every situation).

Murderbot, my beloved!

This next installment lives up to the rest of the series and it was so much fun to see Murderbot and ART interact with each other and their humans some more. The dynamic between Iris and Murderbot was fun to watch because Murderbot is aware of how special she is to ART and so it takes that in to consideration. I love found family and I love the like frustrated affection Murderbot has when it realizes that it has so many more humans to protect.

I look forward to reading wherever their next adventure goes!
