A bit of a drag midway through but I really enjoyed where the story went and lots of good gore.
I was looking forward to reading a sci-fi horror. The creeping sense of dread and the mystery of the origin of the horror kept me reading.
The main thing I could have done without is the overused plot device of the unreliable female character. This is getting so old and I'll never pick up another book with this device if I know of it going into the book.
Also, be aware of some graphic violence descriptions in this book.

I listened to this story in ONE sitting. Which by the way, the narrator was freaking phenomenal.
I think I really only like scifi in the context of horror, and I would pick up another scifi in that context because I really liked this, however I feel like the "after-event" was underwhelming and kind of dragged on (which is where I docked a star) I really really loved the paranormal part; it was freaky, atmospheric, and very well written.
I really enjoyed this. Ghost ships: 4 stars.
