Honestly this book was a huge disappointment for me. I loved Girl on the Train and devoured it quickly. Into the Water fell so flat. I couldn't keep the characters straight. Changing not only the narrator but back and forth from first to third person was too much to keep up with. I literally didn't care about a single character. I had to force myself to finish, and in the end, it wasn't really even worth it. :-/

Why do I keep doing this to myself? Girl on the Train was predictable even to me, the least likely person to solve a murder, ever. This book is the same-- I solved the mystery on the first few chapters, and kept reading eagerly because there's no way I could have figured it out that easily, right?

But I did, though.

Good read. Love the background of history with witch trials.

**spoilers! Don’t read this if you plan on being shook

So this was the first Paula Hawkins book I read and I was amazed, well shook but I would be weird to say shook so many times. I finished this book so quick, and every time I had an assumption I was proved wrong. The ending had me staring at a wall for 5 minutes trying to figure out my life.

I do have thoughts though. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m under the assumption that Sean didn’t push Nel on purpose. The author was talking about how he had moments where he wasn’t all there and I’m pretty sure this was one of them.

On a side note it really bothers me how we never find out what Louise was doing that night? I mean I was assumed she was at the cemetery, but I want to know what she was really doing!! I mean she did lie about what she was doing.

Yalls thoughts to these would be spectacular :)

Eh. I don't think it lived up to the hype. It reminded me of her "Girl on the Train" Many characters and switching back and forth between them every chapter. I liked it, I liked the ending, but it was tiresome at times.

Was it good? Yes.
Was it great? Not necessarily.

❤️

Unenjoyable characters and a few too many, but there’s a handy list to flip to at the start of the book. Overall it kept me guessing even when I thought I had it figured out and was interesting enough halfway through to keep me going; I’d recommend. 3.75 stars.

I listened to the audio book and was in suspense....all the way to the last cd. Then pfftt. It ran out of gas to me as soon as an arrest was made.

Side note-there were a lot of characters to keep track of.

It was hard to read at times because the various story lines are so sad but the ending is a shocker. Ms Hawkins can really weave a tale.
