I did quite like the book but I did get a little confused when it kept flipping back in forth between current day and the past. But that can totally be my fault as I listened to the audiobook of it lol

cool premise, but very forgettable characters with some inconsistency. kinda like a quiet place in a way. this type of ambitious horror concepts often has inconsistency, but it kinda bothers me here because the inconsistency here felt like it is done deliberately for one last shocking scene. the characters are very dull and dry. and i genuinely cant remember them other than valerie and the side antagonist, which i will not mention because its a twist antag. some disturbing scenes here and there but never felt like it had tension. the writing could also be more complex i guess, alot of stuff are written relatively straightforward. just kinda not memorable.
