I really liked the first book and I definitely enjoyed this one just as much. Has a great suspenseful ending that leads you no choice but to read the third in the trilogy, which I'll gladly do.

The first book was good, but I couldn't begin to tell much of anyone why I was drawn to a cold case of a missing girl being researched by a debunked journalist.
This second book in the series is much more tense. Salander takes over from Blomvkist as the main character and we find that she has a morality that is uniquely her own. The hunt for her father and the final showdown between the two kept me up all night the first time I read the book and the tension held even in the second reading.

I really enjoyed this book, although I didn't think it was quite as good as the first in the series. It is one of those stories that keeps you up late wanting to finish and anxious to go out and get the next one.
The beginning of this novel was pretty unnecessary, and that bugged me. That's about the only complaint, though. Listening to this audio book on the drive to work was about the only think I looked forward to when waking up in the mornings, so, that's a good sign for it, (though not so much for my life). ;p
Anyways, we get to learn more about Lisbeth's past and see how it was all even woven into the first novel before we knew it. And I just love to see how she works, and was also more interested in Mikael in this volume, and how he got to further know and care for Lisbeth. (I really do want them to be together, exclusively-because I think that's what Lisbeth wants, which is sweet-and she should totally get what she wants by now.) There were really no side stories that I wasn't interested in in this volume, like I experienced with the first. It was pretty enthralling throughout, and I can't wait to delve into the next one.
(Although, this second movie *really* fell flat for me.)

I read a review somewhere that said Lisbeth took it "too far" in this book. I kept waiting for that while listening to it. I suppose I see the point there but I thought Lisbeth took it too far in the first book and that's exactly why I love her as a character. This story line was interesting how it included Lisbeth's past and explained things that the previous story was hinting at. I really enjoy these books and it's too bad the author is no longer alive to write more.
