This is my second Zentner novel. I read The Serpent King a few years ago and really liked it! I also really liked this novel. It had so many things I enjoyed—first love, second chances, exploration of grief, etc. I was impressed with Zentner’s ability to romanticize characters, situations, and even food (the meal descriptions had me drooling). I’ve never read a romance written, and solely narrated, from the male perspective, but this was so well done I would consider reading other romance novels from the male lens.
