Not scary at all but the atmosphere was chilling. Really enjoyed the 2nd half of the book.

It took me longer to finish this book than normal, and partly because of how much it dealt so heavily with grief. I was expecting horror; and horrific, it was. Yet, it was the slow-burn, gentle push toward insanity, realistic fiction of it all that sold it as way to process (or not?) truly profound grief.
