I received this book from YA Bound Book Tours in return for a fair and honest review.
This book is actually quite hard for me to review because there were parts that I really enjoyed and parts that I really didn't. To be clear, I've been a fan of Quinn Loftis' since her Grey Wolves series (I own every one) so I was looking forward to this one.
For a start of, the main storyline is of a very religious theme. Although he's not called God but the Creator/Maker, you get the idea. Some of the characters say that they are Christians, some don't. But the theme itself is very prevalent and on every page.
On the whole this is a very well written story with insta-love between the main two. I liked them, they were okay but I really liked Emma and Raphael. I looked forward more to their interactions than I did the others.
My overall impression of this book is good. Quinn has gone for a different angle and it will work for a lot of people. If you are after a clean although heated Young Adult book with a religious theme, then I think I've got just the book for you. For myself, this is one series of Quinn's that I won't be continuing with.

This book was very unexpected. I have read several of Quinn's book and this was different (deeper) than anything she has written. I enjoyed her take on the Sandman and how she wove the story and included the "Creator" in the storyline. The depth of each character and their struggles and how they tied together was believable for fiction and I enjoyed it.
~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~
A shocking truth... I have NEVER read anything by Quinn before. So, I am very unfamiliar with her writing style. That being said.... I am going to remedy that real quick. This is the first ever book that I have ever read by Quinn, and I can tell you that it isn't going to be the last. The story grabbed me right from the beginning. I held on, and I'm glad I did because there are things in here that I didn't see coming.
I love the way that she has taken a myth and spun it into her own work of art. Not only did Dream of me have me laughing, but I had to stop reading because I needed to go excavate the box of tissues that I had in my living room. So many emotions that were flowing through me while I was reading Dream of Me that the only words that I had at the end of the book were "wow" and "when is the next book coming out"
This book is beautiful. You should start this book/series. You will love it as much as I do!

This book was not that good for me. I just wasn't that interested in the characters or the story which is why I'm cutting this review short.
The characters weren't realistic enough for me. And their relationship didn't really seem all that exciting. I wasn't at all interested in the main characters.
The storyline was rushed and I didn't really feel that it had any natural flow.
I don't think I'll continue with the rest of the series.

I’m really torn on this book. Something like two-thirds of the story was focused on the main characters (as most books would do) “The Sandman” and Sarah, their building romance, and her accepting his very existence. But I just had so much difficulty feeling anything for those characters that I just couldn’t get into their storyline at all.
The true gems of this book are the rest of the characters that managed to keep me interested enough to stay invested in the story. Emma in particular, and her interactions with the angel Raphael were what I wish the rest of the story was focused on as they ran the whole gamut of emotions from funny to heartbreaking!
Wrapping up the story in one doozy of a cliffhanger certainly does it’s job of making me eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!

I really wanted to read this one but the possessive male trope come out very early... So I'm quitting while I'm ahead..
Edit 1 I'm not going to even lie.
Even If I don't like this book (which I hope will not be the case) the cover is freaking beautiful!!

I usually love Quinn's books, but I just couldn't not finish this one. I didn't believe the relationship first off. It seemed fake with no depth. The characters were too perfect, no flaws. Got tired of the misogynistic rhetoric that was being spouted. Feminism is not about putting men down, it's about equality and the freedom to be what and who you want. I did not realize this was a Christian book, which is fine except some of the views. I know there's so many interpretations of the bible which makes it difficult to write, but I would have thought the creator would like tolerance instead of being judgy. Could just be my view though. Couldn't grasp a real plot, maybe it comes later and I didn't make it. Disappointed. I really like her usual books.
Amazing book. The concept of Sandman is just brilliant... and Dair ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I hated this book
I enjoyed the elfin series but I couldn't manage to get past about a third of this book.
First off Sarah Serenity is the biggest Mary Sue I've ever read, and I've seen a lot. In a small town she is literally in involved in every imaginable charity possible and still manages to work at a vet clinic in the meantime so she can help support her aunt and uncle. She's also apparently gorgeous, with a smile that makes people want to move mountains or something. But of course she's never dated anyone because she is so wonderful and pure that she hasn't been able to find someone worth her time. Of course this doesn't stop boys from wanting to date her!! But she doesn't notice this either. I don't know how this girl finds time in the day to manage all of the wonderful things she does. It helps of course that she's destined to change history one day. it's only natural that someone this amazing and self-sacrificing could only be loved by someone just as amazing. which less me top Dair.
Dair is the Sandman, an ancient and powerful being bringing dreams to those who are meant to change the world. So he must be mysterious and enigmatic as befits a mystic figure. Right? Wrong. All it takes is one look at Sarah and her selflessness to turn him into a two dimensional weak character. Within a few days he falls madly in love with her; HE HASN'T EVEN TALKED TO HER YET!!! And once he does it only takes a week or so for them to be hopelessly in love. But of course it makes sense since the two of them are the most perfect people/beings to ever walk the Earth. Being so old you'd think he'd have some depth but no, he's insta-perfect. This mythic being can drive, has a repertoire of dirty jokes, loves pizza etc. etc. He's every girl's dream. Except one thing: he's misogynistic. He gives a whole speech about how men and women have their places and that the suffrage pains him because women were going against God's plan. Men need to provide, women need to have kids, that whole deal. Of course Sarah finds it hot. The way he talks is also weirdly stilted in a failed attempt to make him sound at least a little archaic.
The other characters are weak and two-dimensional for the most part as well. Her aunt is a self-sacrificing women who also happens to cook really well. Her uncle is a hard-working man with a penchant for dirty jokes. Her best friend is a self-sacrificing girl who have up everything to take care of her mom.
The only character with any real dimension is Emma who at least has some adversity and hardship to overcome.
I was also underwhelmed by the story itself. To be fair I only read 33% so I'm sure it picks up but I'm frustrated by the fact that it's still so slow a third of the way in. The language itself isn't too bad, some of the phrases are really pretty, but the plot was disappointing.
Maybe I'll go back and try to finish it sometime but for now I think I'll let it rest
