This is an amazing book. It is just what everyone needs right now. I luckily grew up in an era where my family did sit at the family dining room table and ate meals together. We talked about our day while enjoying homemade food while enjoying each other's company.

The family table has disappeared and a lot of people don't know what they are missing. That is why this book is so lovely. Hopefully as readers read this book, the tradition will be brought back into homes all over the world. Our Table is truly appreciated and treasured.

This was a very sweet story of a young girl named Violet who reminisces about all of the good times shared at the dinner table with her family. Now her family is glued to technology and they no longer use the dinner table to interact the way they did before. Eventually, the table just disappears and Violet is determined to rebuild the table with her family utilizing their knowledge and skills with the same devices that have divided them.
A gentle yet important message about the importance of limiting our technology use, especially when we are interacting with our loved ones. We are role models to our kids and they watch everything we do. Great book to read with the family <3

3.5 - A simple yet profound story about how important working together and gathering to share stories can be. Sure to strike a chord in the hearts of young and old alike, especially those longtime Peter H. Reynolds fans.

Peter H. Reynolds never misses, tbh. This one's my favorite from him by far, showing both the positives and negatives of technology taking over our lives in a kid-friendly manner. A great pick for a family read aloud.

A young girl laments over the loss of her family regularly gathering together at the table to eat together. Instead of grieving over this loss, she decides to come up with a solution.

I love Peter H. Reynolds books. His illustrations are some of my favorites. This book is a great reminder to adults to spend quality time with your kids. It is simple in text and profound in meaning.

Life gets in the way.  Families drift. And when a child realizes that their family is drifting away from the family table and eating together, they hatch a plan to get everyone back together.  This story is marvelous, and the way the author uses color to show depression morphing into happiness is fantastic.  Overall, Peter Reynolds has another fantastic book in his collection.

Very cute easy/early reader on how a young girl brings her family back together to sit and enjoy eating around their table as a family.
