Hemingway does writer-ly things in Paris. There are some entertaining anecdotes here and I really enjoyed reading about F. Scott Fitzgerald acting like an overly-indulged toddler.

Why did he write the chapter about F. Scott Fitzgerald like that?

“There is never any end to Paris”

And how can there be, when every chapter brings up so many emotions - and to everyone who has ever been in this beautiful city, a handful of memories.

Paris is timeless, and Hemingway always knew that. Whether one is a constant adventurer, a hopeless romantic, or a fisher by the Seine, this book is for you (and probably about you too) as it captures human essence at its most natural sense.

What a time the post-war was for writers, and what a joy for us to be able to observe their everydayness through Hemingway’s perspective - at his poorest and at his happiest.
