Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series
Lori Foster

Ready, Set, Jet
When You Dare
Trace of Fever
Savor the Danger
A Perfect Storm
What Chris Wants
The Guy Next Door

I binged a lot of Lori Foster early this year. There are a few books in this series that I haven’t read What Chris Wants. This series is related to other series through a character.

When You Dare follows our strong man Dare Macintosh and the strong female character, Molly Alexander. You can’t go wrong with a slow burn romance. I love it when the couple are surprised that they could ever fall in love.

Trace of Fever this novel follows Dare’s friend and fellow business owner Trace Rivers as he goes undercover in a corrupt corporation to take down the owners human smuggling ring when in walks in trouble Priscilla Patterson is related to the corrupt business owner that Trace has painstakingly gotten close to and now he is tasked with watching over the woman who can throw the whole undercover op out the window with her own one-woman operation. I love the way these two characters play off each other. This book also fills in the back story to a character in another series.

Savor the Danger follows Jackson Savor a member of our mercenary group of friends who wakes up naked in bed with the beautiful Alani with no memory. All he knows is that he had a strange visitor and woke up drugged. He vows to keep Alani safe and solve the mystery of his visitor and why he was drugged.

The Guy Next Door is an anthology with Susan Donovan and Victoria Dahl. This is Ready, Set, Jet the prequel to the series. This novella follows Natalie Alexander who is just looking for a no strings sexual encounter while on vacation until Jett Sutter offers something completely different.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've listened to this book. I love this series! I really like mercenary hero stories and Dare is the perfect hero. He is tough, strong and isn't afraid to show his softer side too. Molly is also a tough character and handles her situation a lot better than I ever could. I love how these two meet under terrible circumstances but they do what needs to be done and find love along the way. I also love all the side characters in this book including Dare's girls.

Jim Frangione is a favorite of mine and I think he is a perfect Dare! He has that tough manly non angry type of voice. Great casting!

Molly is rescued from her captors by Dare Macintosh. Even with the ordeal she has been through, she can’t help her attraction to the sexy mercenary.

Dare not only felt an immediate attraction to Molly, but also an immediate need to protect her. Molly isn’t exactly sure who is after her, but she’s hired Dare to find out. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means going after her father.

I really loved all the time spent at Dare’s home with his assistant Chris. I got to see another side of Dare when he was at home with Chris and his dogs. You could see that Dare truly cared about those closest to him.

Even though the relationship between Molly and Dare developed rather quickly, it was totally believable. I didn’t feel at all rushed with their love story or the plot in general. Dare is the perfect alpha male. He's strong and oh so sexy, but he's also sensitive and caring. A man who does the cooking!?! What's not to love!

Molly was the girl next door that you couldn't help but to like. She didn't see herself as Hollywood's standard of beautiful, but Dare seen none more beautiful. And everyone should have a friend like Chris.

I so look forward to reading more of this series! This is a series for my keeper shelf!

This was the first book I read by Lori Foster and the reason I feel in love with her books. I have read this book several times and it just gets better and better every time I read it again. Dare is a great hero that is very easy to fall in love with and Molly is a great Heroine, she is a tough woman. She is the kind of heroine that I enjoy reading because she does not except Dare to do everything for her, she is very independent and I really enjoyed that about the book. I will be reading the rest of this series for sure.

I have mixed feelings about this book.  I like the idea, and if you like a hint of true crime it's great.  I think I want more character development though.  Still TBD on if I'll continue the series.

Lori Foster is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. Her writing is not only spectacular but, what I really love is that she writes really strong heroines. I've only read a few of her books so far but, I've noticed that she writes heroines that are strong, independent, thinks or themselves, takes no bull crap kind of women. Her alpha males are also strong, sexy as hell, sweet, dominant males that respects how strong the heroines are. With that said, I absolutely loved this book.

Dare is a mercenary who's helping his friend find his sister who's been kidnapped. When he finds her he also rescues all the other women who've been kidnapped. There's one woman who stands out to him, who's worse off than the other women. He doesn't understand why she was separate from the other girls who were about to be sold off. Dare takes her to help her heal & also helps her find out who's behind her kidnapping.

Molly is a 30yo woman who comes from a wealthy family that only cares about appearances & doesn't care about her. She's also a very successful romance writer with a movie deal in the works. When she's rescued by Dare she's more concerned about who's behind her kidnapping & wants to help Dare find out who. Throughout Molly & Dare figuring out who took her, they form feelings for one another. When you find out who it was that had Molly taken, I honestly didn't see it coming. I thought it was going to be someone else. So that was a nice little twistaroo!

What I loved most about this book was how strong Molly was. Yes, of course she was affected by what happened to her & how she was horrifically tormented but, at the same time she didn't want it to dictate how she lived her life. I also loved that Dare was right there supporting her & not coddling her. He was concerned about her well being but, at the same time he didn't treat her with kid gloves. He respected her independence & how she spoke without reservation. It was actually all a turn on for him.

This book had just the right amount of hot, sexy goodness to go along with the incredible, thrilling, fast paced storyline. I'm excited to read not only more books in this series but, more books by Lori Foster!

I picked this book up on a whim one day when I was grocery shopping because, big surprise, the cover caught my eye. The description on the back sounded interesting, but embarrassingly enough, I made the decision to buy it because I liked the hero's name. Tsk, tsk, how shallow of me. However, my shallowness was a good thing because I actually liked the book! This was my first by Lori Foster, so I can't really comment if her writing was up to par compared to her other books, but I thought it was good. I liked the concept and the characters, and it was an entertaining read.

In short, I liked all the main characters. Dare was sexy, skilled, and smart. Molly, while grating on my nerves at times, was cute and really strong. Chris was funny, the perfect best friend. The dogs were adorable. And I'm intrigued by Trace, so I look forward to reading about him.

Oh, where to start . . .

I loved Dare. I mean, with a name like Dare, who can resist? He's strong, controlled and meticulous. He's a mercenary and has the body that goes with it. He's cool under pressure and focused on the job at hand. Dare is the definition of alpha male.

Molly isn't your typical damsel in distress. She's been kidnapped, beaten and tormented for nine days, yet keeps her cool and stays practical and level headed after her rescue. Even during her captivity, she never backed down from her tormentors. She fought with them and never gave them the satisfaction of seeing her break down. She is tough as nails and has a firm grasp on her independence. I love that in a female character.

The relationship that buds between Molly and Dare is emotional and intense. Despite his tough, rugged appearance and the cool, methodical nature of his work, Dare warms to Molly quickly. He finds himself drawn to Molly, feeling a need to protect her and care for her. His alpha instincts kick in but he's not macho and overbearing. And regardless of the strong front she puts on, Molly finds herself needing Dare's comfort to put her at ease after nine days of Hell.

I'm a sucker for a tough guy with a soft side and Lori Foster creates him perfectly with Dare. There are some tender moments between Dare and Molly that left me swooning! He has strong hands with a tender touch. From brushing her hair and kissing her bruises to sweeping her off her feet in the bedroom, Dare is the man every woman dreams of.
