This was a first time reading Lori Foster, and I have to say I enjoyed her work! The eyecandy cover was what caught my eye, but it was the relationship between the characters of Dare, Molly, Chris, Trace and Alani that hooked me.

Dare is a protective alpha male all the way which gives me lots of shivers and sighs. One of my weaknesses in reading is a hero who not only can kick butt, but also has a strong sense of "family", which Dare has in spades...for his friends, for his girls, and for Molly.

Molly could have been a bit more fleshed out and tweaked in the common sense department, but she was a good match for Dare as a heroine. The "romantic suspense" did take a back seat to the character/relationship building, but that's fine by me. I'm definately reading the rest of this series in the hopes that Trace & Jackson will stand up to the uberness of Dare!

Romantic Suspense writer Molly Alexander was kidnapped and taken across the border to Mexico, but no one seems to know who or why Molly was targeted. Molly's rescuer, Dare Macintosh took this case personally. Dare had gone on a mission to rescue his friend Trace's little sister Alana, when he came across Molly. He was impressed with her strength, her resolve and he decided he will help her find out why she was attacked. So began the journey of Molly and Dare to an HEA.

Unfortunately, I pegged the responsible party immediately so it took the suspense out of it. It was okay for a book 1 and I already bought book 2. This book just didn't compare with how I felt when I read I-team. The writing was okay, nothing that was just gripping. It was pretty average overall.

well, i finished it. This was a def miss by Lori Foster for me, normally I enjoy her stuff. Molly was dumb, Dare was a chauvinist, I couldn't get over the constant "managing" of the women in this story and for real, the bad guy was so obvious it was ridiculous and also just plain dumb.

Mercenary rescues famous romsus author, who the hires him to find out the people behind her kidnapping. A pair of rather strong leads, with him being alpha-protective but not jerkish, and her being super tough, but with realistic moments of weakness. He's very gentle with her but he never coddles her.

A bit of insta-attraction, but it took a while before they do anything about it. Their romance works for me - she makes him want permanence and he supports her through it all. The suspense fell a little short, however - a very quick wrap up after all the investigative action and the motive is a little odd. Still an entertaining read, plus cute dogs alert!

Dare MacIntosh, lives a life of danger and intensity, he is talented with a gun and isn't afraid of using it. He is a mercenary, and lives to protect. When his best friend's sister is kidnapped, he goes in to rescue her, and finds another woman, one who has suffered worse, Molly Alexander. Molly is a writer and very accomplished, she has had to make her own way and loves her independent life. But when she is kidnapped and taken to Mexico, she knows that after she is rescued, that her life is still in danger, because it wasn't any random kidnapping, she was the only woman taken on purpose. Then strolls in Dare into her life, her protector and she offers him a proposition, to help her find who is responsible, and she will pay him a huge amount of cash in return. Dare is a man of honor, and even though he agrees, he starts to feel something more for Molly, and the last thing he plans on doing is taking her money, he just won't tell her. As the danger surrounding Molly closes in, the bond between them grows even stronger, and what Molly is starting to feel for Dare may be even more dangerous than her unknown enemy who is stalking her.

When You Dare is the first in this romantic suspense series by Lori Foster. Now I recently fell in love with this author. After a wonderful recommendation from a friend blogger, I decided to take a chance on her. Now that I have, I am more than thrilled I have taken this chance, and been able to try her out. This is the second book that I have had the opportunity to read from this author, and all I can say is that there is more books that I plan on reading from her. I just love the storyteller's ability to create a story of danger and suspense and a romance to blow me away!!

The story begins with some intense moments, and my heart just went out to Molly. In the beginning, you see her as a woman who is suffering the after effects of being abused, thin as a bone and almost barely alive. She has a fighters spirit, but it has been beaten away. You see how she begins to heal in the story, and you just battle with her as you see her struggle and persevere. I love how she just fights her way through, and no one is going to keep her down for long. Dare...well he is just simply wonderful. Tough around the edges, isn't afraid to fight, built to kill if necessary, and he is one gorgeous male. I loved every inch of him. He is so great with Molly, and the connection that they have is pretty steamy, but I loved how Foster has a way of making a romance hot but still have a lot of focus on the emotional side to the relationship--she really balanced the plot and story line well with building of the characters. She has a very unique way about her writing, and I just couldn't get enough of her.

Overall a winner of a romance. A story with a fast paced plot, deep entrenched characters, emotion riveting on every page, and a love story to die for!! THRILLING TILL THE END!!

Page turner. I like the elements of trying to solve the mystery alongside the characters. I read it in 3 days :)

I love all of Lori's books. They're always an easy read and a nice escape. This is the first in a 3-part series and I'm hoping the other books will touch more on the character of Chris.

Dnf at 6%. I strongly dislike Dare and could care less about getting to know Molly.
