Durante años hemos escuchado y leído acerca de los aconteciendo de la segunda guerra mundial. El dolor, las injusticias, y las penas causadas a tantas familias. Millones de personas asesinadas en los campos de concentración. Y hoy con la escritura de esta joven, sabemos lo que muchas personas sufrieron teniendo que esconderse y dejando su vida atrás.
Esta lectura fue dura, realmente ver el crecimiento de Ana Frank desde su encierro, me hizo sentir afortunada de poder ser libre y no tener que librar esas batallas. Aún así, este es un libro que todos deberíamos leer en algún momento de nuestra vida y reflexionar sobre todo aquello que tenemos y que muchísimas veces damos por sentado que siempre las tendremos.

It’s hard for me to be objective with a book of this kind and with this type of relevance, so I’m going to give it the top score and not judge it by its writing and other technical aspects given that it was written by a kid, as a personal diary and in the worst kind of situation. This is the first time I’ve read a diary, and at first I thought it was going to be tedious because I’m used to a different kind of narrative, but I actually found it easy to read. I think that it’s because of the naturalness and the approachableness of Anne. It’s amazing how one can relate to certain parts and ideas, because even though we all live in different contexts, some feelings are universal. It was very interesting to read how much Anne matured and improved on her writing during her time hiding. At the same time it was heartbreaking to read that she had to mature that fast. Some passages were hard to read for me, not because of their content, but because I knew how it all ended; all that hope in the future she wrote about made me extremely sad. That’s a thing I want to praise, Anne was a very strong and positive girl even if sometimes she felt down as she shared. From a historic point of view this was a really fascinating read because one can learn firsthand what it meant to be Jewish at that dark time in history; but I think that this book greatness results from an emotional point of view; it’s a true lesson of humanity. I think that it should be compulsory for everyone to read this diary, so we can all widen our perspectives, change our points of view, learn to be better and specially; learn from the mistakes of the past so that level of hate and horror never happens again.
