A low simmer of suspense that brings everyone into suspicion, with an underlying exploration of women's roles and realistic psychology.
The book is great. The plot never falters, and the writer has made sure that she never gives off too much information. The characters written are great. You couldn't bring yourself to like any of them, they're all flawed, and still well written. I could never see the plot twist coming, and it was done all very professionally, without any cheekiness. Overall, this is a real good read for those who are interested in Whodunit and stuff from similar genres.
I rate 'The Girl on the Train' a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Look, I know this book comes highly celebrated or whatever, but I knew who the killer was 1/4 into the book. It was far too predictable for me. Maybe I just read too many thrillers and am too good at guessing, but I was hoping that a book this well reviewed would be more surprising. That being said, I thought the format of the chapters was unique and I enjoyed the unreliable narrator that Rachel is.
