Air Bound by Christine Feehan

Back to Sea Haven ... it's been a while since I've visited.

This one started out with a bang and was pretty much high octane throughout. Airiana is a highly intelligent air talent. Maxim (who kidnaps to protect her) is also an air talent.

I love how quickly she picks up Maxim's tricks with working with air. Her talent improves immensely over the course of this book.

This one is another reluctant hero, who fights the inevitable. Which makes the realization that he's totally hooked scene so much sweeter.

Another Prakenskii is in Sea Haven ... I think things are heating up to explosive levels. Especially since it appears that the Drake sisters my all be heading back to town.

Sea Haven, how happy I was to be back in Sea Haven, I had been waiting for the next book in this series for a long time. I was so happy when I saw Air Bound was available. I love Airiana, she’s strong and confident and a great heroine, even if she does come to love and trust Maxim Prakenskii really fast. Though since there is a bit of a fated mate’s aspect I overlooked and let some of that quick love and trust go.

This story is full of action, and a lot of death, but at its core it’s a beautiful love story. Airiana sees Maxim for them man he truly is and not the man he shows the world, and Maxim does his best to protect and love Airiana.

I enjoyed that even though it’s been awhile since I read the others in the series, and some of the events from that spilled over, that the author did a good job of reminding and introducing me to those events again, so that I could easily pick it back up again. I think this allows the story to be read as a standalone if necessary, though I did enjoy the first two in the series and would recommend them too.

Overall, I really enjoyed and recommend this story, it has magic, action and enough intrigue to keep you guessing and the story hopping and moving forward.

Read/Listen for Fun (Kindle/Audible)
Overall Rating: 4.25
Story Rating: 4.25
Character Rating: 4.25

Audio Rating: 3.50 (Not part of the overall rating)

First Thought when Finished: Air Bound by Christine Feehan was a wonderful addition to the Sisters of the Heart Series. I am very excited that everything/everyone is coming together!

Story Thoughts: This is my favorite Sisters of the Heart book so far. The story was a great combination of action, overall story arc move forward, and romance. The kids both broke my heart and gave me hope. They were so brilliantly brave in a horrible situation. Also, the slow build between Airiana and Maxim was perfectly well done. I liked their connection in element first. This will be in my reread pile.

Character Thoughts: I love Airiana! She was fierce, determined, knew her limitations, was willing to do whatever it took, and trusted her feelings. I am always cheering when someone just accepts what they know to be true. Took me a bit more to warm up to Maxim (as it should) but when I did, I swooned like my teenage self at a Bon Jovi concert. Together they were great!

Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Phil Gigante / Length: 12 hrs and 38 mins

I love Phil but with this series he is always hit/miss for me. This time I just don't think I could get into his voice for Airiana. He did Maxim fantastically but alas it just wasn't my favorite narration of his. However, I will keep on with this in audio because he pulls the brothers off wonderfully.

Final Thoughts: Just found out it will be another year till the next one: counting down!

This series started out strong but I didn't like this book as much as I'd hoped. Feehan is definitely going to the dark side, bringing in children and human trafficking to her books. I guess I just didn't like Maxim, he was stranger than her normal male characters. The banter between Airi and Maxim made me kind of nauseous, it tried to come off as cute but it was like watching a verbal sparring match. There was way too much action, that was kind of nauseating too, and boring. Although this book was written well, and I read it all, it gave me mixed reactions. I thought the first two books in the series were better..... Overall though, if you like her work, you can get through it. I have stopped reading her dark series because it's too hard to keep track anymore, but this one was ok. I give it four stars overall.

This book had its moments where i questioned giving it a five star review but i had to because there were some really adorable moments in a bad situation. The characterasation was everything and the pace was just enough to keep me wanting more enough to keep going. For those reasons i gave it a 5 star review
