Definitely a real product of its time--be prepared for biphobia and transphobia, although neither goes unchallenged. Lots of emphasis on politics and world events--it made me feel less alone in the despair. Lots of juicy lesbian drama mixed into political commentary and hard convos.

there were moments where i found the characters annoying considering just how many times the topic of politics came up, but i think it was something that was needed. i really enjoyed the community they created among each other and how much they fought to stay informed and form their own thoughts and opinions on it despite how dark and heavy the information was.

Aww man, I didn't realize this was a curated selection and not all-inclusive. Now I'm going to have to search out all eleven volumes of the series!

I loved this so much, I feel like I really understand what the lesbian community might’ve been like in the years these comics were published. It’s crazy how even though so much has changed, we were arguing about a lot of the same stuff 35 years ago that we are now! Love love love it!

So good. Would read again

temporally locked i think but still very good and very human.

" 'Amazing. You'd think that in the staggering amount of news analysis this issue has generated, someone would have at least mentioned the interesting little coincidence that all theses pistol-packin' pubescents are male.'
'White boys. Can you imagine if it was girls, or African-American kids wiping out their homerooms with TEC-9s? All these laments about our generic "children" would get awful specific awful quick.' "

So relatable
