The characters and the plot did not call to me. I might come back at a later date, but at the moment, I am just not feeling it. Also the name of the rooster is so silly, it just... not my thing. šŸ˜…

The title of this book made me want to read it, and I did enjoy this. I didn't love the way they just kept talking about how he loved her size and implying the boys' mom was curvy and they all just love curvy women. That aspect of it was kind of a weird emphasis. But the story of friends to lovers was cute and it was a quick read.

I really appreciate that this author writes stories about plus size women who are actual people and not just their size. It’s empowering and sexy. This book was cute, light, and steamy, making it the perfect read after I had my heart ripped out and stomped on from the last book I had finished.

I started this book expecting wild spice and pure chaos based on the title—and yes, it absolutely delivered the šŸŒ¶ļøā€¦ but what really surprised me was how sweet and heartfelt the story turned out to be. It’s about falling for your high school best friend, being unapologetically yourself, and finding someone who loves you for every ridiculous, spicy, soft bit of who you are.

The ā€œhe falls firstā€ trope completely got me. Watching him be so clearly gone for her while she’s still trying to figure things out? Swoon. This series might look like a joke at first glance, but it gives you all the feels. I laughed, I blushed, I melted.

Turns out, I am a romance reader—I just needed the right mix of heart and heat to prove it.
