This was just going to be a “pallet cleanser” book….. something to break up the “serious” reads i have planned. I immediately fell in love with the writing style, the characters, the heart, the comedy. I couldn’t put this down. i can’t wait to do the rest of the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 stars)

This was a good, fast-paced read with a fun premise, though I’ll admit the first 20% dragged a little and left me bored at times. I’m glad I pushed through though, because once it picked up, the story turned out to be really cute and charming. It’s the kind of book that leaves you smiling in the end, even if the slower beginning kept it from being a stronger favorite.

It was horrible. The writing was so cringe and bad. It felt like a gen z kid trying to show how cool they were, while I was dying of a second hand embarrassment from the quality of writing. It was that bad.

The story was cringe too tbh. While I usually love a man obsessed and fake dating, I hated it in this book. Nothing worked. And the fact that her mother was sex-obsessed too and sent her daughter sex toys? That's not normal.

The ending was... So fucking dramatic I was rolling my eyes at the end. And that press conference? Please, if anybody ever did this, it would mean a career suicide. He would get kicked out of the league for starters and never play again because nobody would want him around. Seriously, there's a suspension of disbelief and then there's... This. I hated it. Shouldn't have trusted Reddit recs.
