Dnfed at 60% couldn’t do it. I was SOOOO bored. The banter was none existent. The chemistry between the two main characters was super lacking. I couldn’t tell if the fmc was into the main character or if she was just into the fact that he was a professional football player ( which was the primary descriptor of him).

I was recommended this book on Tiktok and was shocked to find out that I had already read one book in the series (Honkers Under the Holly) and couldn't believe I hadn't gone back to the start of the series beacuse honestly, I loved Honker Under the Holly. This book is equally as great- and what I appreciate the most about this series is that the characters are flawed, but so, so lovable.

This is the first book in the Cocky Kingsman series and had I not read the other book first, would be your first introduction to this chaotic family. I was immediately all in beacuse in this one we meet Trixie, who, I've got to be honest, is basically me. She's a librarian in Colorado who works primarily with teens, she wants to give them a better experience then what she had, and she's always down for a little flirting action with her best friend Chris who she is currently living the worlds longest slow burn with. Chris also happens to be the quarterback for the local NFL team with a huge athletic family that goes all in on making sure Chris and Trixie get together.

This book really has the perfect balance of serious moments, spice, and humor.

I guess I’m just a sucker for a dirty little small town romance that still has a ADORABLE plot! The “cocks” in this are so …protective. Hehe!
