The author did the narration for this, and I actually really loved it.
It didn't feel like it had a beginning middle and end, more like it just flowed one thing after another and then just sort of ended. But not in a bad way? I still found it an enjoyable read. Not sure if I'd listen to the prequel bc Buechlman doesn't read it.

Fun, easy read but I felt like there should have been more to the story. Certain parts of the book felt pointless in the grand scheme of the plot but it was still fun and enjoyable.
The Blacktongue Thief is a dark fantasy that leans heavily on its main character, but if you don’t connect with him within the first few chapters, it’s going to be a long journey. The humor fell flat for me, the story dragged in several places, and the fight scenes often felt lackluster.

Easy to feel immersed in the world around the characters. Each character introduced felt fleshed out, even if not important to the overall plot. The dynamic between the main characters keeps you drawn in.
Enjoyed the second half. Took me a minute to really dive into it. Won’t be reading the daughter’s war though. Not invested enough.
