Stock fantasy in what feels like the author’s D&D home campaign of ersatz Europe (complete with map and card game), and still a satisfying adventure, written as it is by someone who knows the prose should be worth reading.

I really enjoyed this one. The narrator voice is very well- defined, colorfully illustrating the world around him. Every character felt very distinct and interesting. It starts off a bit slow, but once they set out on their journey, every turn of the story feels so unexpected and weird and exciting.
