So characterization is a big thing for me. I have to enjoy SOMETHING a about the people I'm reading about, even if it is how absolutely horrible they are. There was none of that here. Ryan wasn't half bad and I did like Tara, but she was just a sidenote in this story
I did like the monsters, though. And Oona. If Oona and the monsters could have ridden off into the sunset and lived happily ever after, that would have redeemed this book.

A swing and a miss.... This book was on it's way to five stars, however the author became lazy with the ending. Superb character development! Ahlborn has my attention. I will be reading more of this author.

This book was a repetitive mess with no plot or point in sight. The same events keep happening over and over again, with no real progression or depth. The plot feels like it's stuck in a loop, offering no fresh twists or engaging moments. The characters are flat, and there's no meaningful development. The book lacks tension and simply fails to deliver.

A fun little winter gore filled romp, but it's certainly not that deep
Had to stop at 51% and I'm kinda disappointed in the fact that I could not finish this book. I tried, ya'll, I really tried, but I just could not relate or even like the main 4-5 characters after being introduced to their bad reality show drama. The more interesting horror aspects of the book were too far between the misconception/assumption/misperception of April, the "tagalong" girlfriend and the fact that the rest of the cabin residents thought way too highly of themselves to be able to sit down and have a conversation. I was supposed to be scared, but I was more horrified at having to be privy to Jane's hypocrisy, Ryan's narcissism, Lauren's being wrapped up in Jane's and Ryan's issues to form an opinion of her own and Sawyer's inability to be upfront and honest about his own feelings. I'm with April on this one about wanting to leave. Run, honey, and get far far way.
The dialogue in this book annoyed the shit out of me for one. The characters were dull. The setting was great. The creatures I feel like I’ve seen before in a movie so it’s like they were copied from something I’ve already seen, I’m sure of it. There were also these “side stories” unrelated to the main characters and had zero relevance. They were completely unnecessary. I just didn’t like it. I loved Brother! But I also didn’t like Seed so so far Ania has a 1/3 for me.
Holy crap this book was really freaky!!! I am so not looking forward to snow now. Totally read this but not before bed...man those dreams were frightening!!
