This was okay, it just didn't feel especially fresh and honestly would have worked better in a shorter format. There were a handful of good scares, but generally the monsters weren't that interesting, the characters were bland and felt really trope-y. Also, the woodsman story arc didn't feel like it belonged with the main arc.
I'd recommend picking up another of Ahlborn's books-- she seems to shine more when dealing with things like hauntings and ghosts than monsters in the woods.

Very creepy story. Not my favorite Ania Ahlborn book, but not my least favorite either. Unlikable characters to the point where you start rooting for their demise. I liked the dog though.

The monster premise was an interesting one. However, the characters are so hate-able and poorly written that it’s not worth reading. You will be banging your head over the things these 30-somethings say/do. Falling in love with someone over the course of 2 days? Not getting over your high-school ex after over a decade?

DID NOT FINISH

The romance subplot was unbearable, 4 chapters of "oh cheating men are the worst my father cheated my husband cheated" followed immediatly by "oh i hope my ex boyfriend will cheat on his girlfriend with me" and then as if the author realized how hypocritical and bitchy that was,
killed the girlfriend, who was the only bearable character in the book

Oona is the best/smartest character

i am so incredibly pissed off at that ending everyone except jane dies and then instead of taking her to the police like a normal person would these people take her back to the woods?! i could scream i am so mad

I am literally never going to be in a cabin in the snow. Ever.
